The early infection dynamics of patients with SARS-CoV-2 are not well understood. We aimed to investigate and characterize associations between clinical, laboratory, and imaging features of asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic patients with SARS-CoV-2. ⋯ • Forty-eight of 74 (65%) pre-selected asymptomatic patients with SARS-CoV-2 had abnormal chest CT findings. • CT infiltrates pre-dated symptom onset by 3.8 days (range 1-5). • KL-6, CRP, and elevated body temperature identified patients with CT infiltrates. Higher infiltrate volume, percent lung involvement, and pulmonary consolidation identified patients who developed symptoms.

The 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19) results in a wide range of clinical severity and there remains a need for prognostic tools which identify patients at risk of rapid deterioration and who require critical care. Chest radiography (CXR) is routinely obtained at admission of COVID-19 patients. However, little is known regarding correlates between CXR severity and time to intubation. We hypothesize that the degree of opacification on CXR at time of admission independently predicts need and time to intubation. ⋯ • Chest radiography at the time of admission independently predicts time to intubation within 48 h and during the hospital stay in COVID-19 patients. • More opacities on chest radiography are associated with several fold increases in early mechanical ventilation among COVID-19 patients. • Chest radiography is useful in identifying COVID-19 patients whom may rapidly deteriorate and help inform clinical management as well as hospital bed and ventilation allocation.

This study sought to validate the performance of simultaneous non-contrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage (SNAP) imaging in characterizing carotid IPH by histology. ⋯ • SNAP imaging showed better agreement with histology compared with MP-RAGE imaging, especially for the IPHs with small size. • SNAP sequence is a more effective tool to identify and quantify carotid IPH than traditional sequence of MP-RAGE that can help clinicians to optimizing the treatment strategy. • The plaque components of rich lipid pools or loose matrix and chronic/old IPH (cholesterol crystals) can lead to false positive and false negative results in SNAP and MP-RAGE imaging for identifying IPH.

To investigate the correlation between transverse sinus stenosis (TSS) and transstenotic pressure gradient (TPG) in unilateral pulsatile tinnitus (PT) patients with sigmoid sinus wall anomalies (SSWA). ⋯ • CT venography may act as a screening tool to help low-probability unilateral pulsatile tinnitus (PT) patients with sigmoid sinus wall anomalies (SSWA) avoid invasive catheter manometry. • The degree and length of ipsilesional transverse sinus stenosis (TSS) are positively correlated with transtenotic pressure gradient (TPG) in unilateral PT patients with SSWA. • Ipsilesional TPG is larger in unilateral PT patients with contralateral transverse sinus dysplasia than those without and is smaller in unilateral PT patients with sigmoid sinus diverticulum than those with isolated dehiscence.

To analyze the abnormal amygdala structure and function in lifelong premature ejaculation (PE) patients compared with healthy controls (HCs). ⋯ • As one of the most common diseases in men, PE may be related to abnormal brain mechanisms. • Functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging used to explore amygdala abnormalities in PE patients. • The correlation between clinical scores and functional connectivity was used to assess the reasonability of the results.
