We performed this study to report our experience using a stepwise stent deployment technique for the treatment of tandem intracranial aneurysms. ⋯ • Treating wide-necked intracranial aneurysms with stent-assisted coiling is preferable. • Tandem wide-necked intracranial aneurysms can be treated with a single stent. • Stepwise stent deployment is technically feasible for embolizing tandem intracranial aneurysms.

To meta-analyze diagnostic accuracy, test yield and utility of coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) in coronary artery disease (CAD) by an intention-to-diagnose approach with inclusion of unevaluable results. ⋯ • This 3 × 2 Bayesian meta-analysis included unevaluable CCTAs with intention-to-diagnose. • CCTA is currently useful at intermediate CAD pre-test probabilities. • Unevaluable CCTAs should not, generally, be treated as if they are positive. • Positive CCTAs require verification by other methods to confirm CAD. • Negative CCTAs exclude CAD with high certainty.

Screening for lung cancer should be limited to a high-risk-population, and abnormalities in low-dose computed tomography (CT) screening images may be relevant for predicting the risk of lung cancer. Our aims were to compare the occurrence of visually detected emphysema and interstitial abnormalities in subjects with and without lung cancer in a screening population of smokers. ⋯ • Visually detected emphysema on CT is more frequent in individuals who develop lung cancer. • Emphysema grading is higher in those who develop lung cancer. • Interstitial abnormalities, including discrete changes, are associated with lung cancer. • Quantitative lung density measurements are not useful in lung cancer risk prediction. • Early CT signs of emphysema and interstitial abnormalities can predict future risk.

To evaluate the characteristics of sigmoid plate dehiscence (SPD) causing pulsatile tinnitus (PT) on CT arteriography and venography (CTA + V). ⋯ Pulsatile tinnitus (PT) caused by sigmoid plate dehiscence (SPD) may be cured. SPD causing PT has some characteristic findings on CT. SPD may be a common key to triggering PT's perception. Thin-slice high resolution CT venography is recommended for SPD assessment. The relationship between intracranial pressure and SPD causing PT should be studied.

To assess the effect of hybrid iterative reconstruction (HIR) and filtered back projection (FBP) on abdominopelvic CT with reduced-dose (RD-APCT) in the evaluation of acute left-sided colonic diverticulitis (ALCD). ⋯ HIR significantly reduces objective image noise in comparison to conventional FBP. HIR offers superior subjective image quality in comparison to conventional FBP. HIR allows reduced-dose abdominopelvic CT with acceptable image quality. Reviewer confidence in interpreting CT findings in ALCD significantly improves with HIR.
