Growth of left ventricular outflow tract and predictors of future re-intervention after repair for ventricular septal defect and aortic arch obstruction.
Ventricular septal defect and aortic arch obstruction are usually associated with a narrow left ventricular outflow tract. The aim of the present study was to analyse the growth and predictors of future obstruction of the left ventricular outflow tract after surgical repair.

Case ReportsFatal severe coronary artery stenosis in Williams syndrome: decision making using late gadolinium enhancement cardiovascular MRI.
Williams syndrome is a well-recognised congenital disorder characterised by cardiovascular, connective tissue, and central nervous system abnormalities. Coronary artery abnormalities are seen in patients with supravalvar aortic stenosis, but end-stage ischaemic heart disease is rare. We report a case of end-stage ischaemic heart disease due to severe coronary arterial stenosis, highlighting how cardiovascular MRI contributed to the management.

Case ReportsMassive aortic root aneurysm in an infant with the Loeys-Dietz syndrome.
A 10-month-old girl with type I Loeys-Dietz syndrome developed a conspicuous aortic root aneurysm that was well demonstrated on chest X-ray/CT reconstruction. She underwent successful valve-spare repair of the ascending aorta.

Review Case ReportsHigh-dose adenosine for refractory supraventricular tachycardia: a case report and literature review.
Supraventricular tachycardia is the most common significant arrhythmia in children. If prolonged, it may cause heart failure and progress to cardiogenic shock warranting prompt treatment. ⋯ We present an infant with an unstable supraventricular tachycardia that was resistant to electrical cardioversion and recommended doses of adenosine. He reverted to sinus rhythm with a higher dose of adenosine, suggesting that such doses may be required in refractory supraventricular tachycardia.

Practice GuidelineCreating a lesion-specific "roadmap" for ambulatory care following surgery for complex congenital cardiac disease.
Over the past 20 years, the successes of neonatal and infant surgery have resulted in dramatically changed demographics in ambulatory cardiology. These school-aged children and young adults have complex and, in some cases, previously unexpected cardiac and non-cardiac consequences of their surgical and/or transcatheter procedures. ⋯ We have proposed a combination proactive-reactive collaborative model with a patient's primary cardiologist, primary-care provider, and subspecialists, along with the patient and their family. The goal is to help standardise data collection in the ambulatory setting, reduce patient and family anxiety, increase health literacy, measure and address the non-cardiac consequences of complex cardiac disease, and aid in the transition to self-care as an adult.
