Comparative StudyInfluence of chronic neck pain on cervical joint position error (JPE): Comparison between young and elderly subjects.
Evaluation of cervical joint position sense in subjects with chronic neck pain has gained importance in recent times. Different authors have established increased joint position error (JPE) in subjects with acute neck pain. However, there is a paucity of studies to establish the influence of chronic neck pain on cervical JPE. ⋯ Cervical joint position sense is impaired in subjects with chronic neck pain.

Observational StudyRole of upper cervical spine in temporomandibular disorders.
Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) are prevalent multifactorial pathologies in which the actual role of the cervical region position is controversial. ⋯ TMD symptomatology is unrelated to alterations in craniocervical position (C0-C1 distance and craniocervical angle). Women with and without TMD showed a similar prevalence of alteration in the craniocervical position.

Analysis of correlation between degeneration of lower lumbar paraspinal muscles and spinopelvic alignment in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture.
A few studies have pointed that trunk extensors may affect the spinopelvic alignment; however, little is known about the exact association between degeneration of lower lumbar paraspinal muscles and spinopelvic parameters. ⋯ With the increase of fatty infiltration of the erector spinae, the degree of pelvis retroversion increases; the lower lumbar lordosis decreases with the increase of intramuscular adipose tissue of the erector spinae plus multifidus. The atrophy degree of the erector spinae and multifidus is not correlated with pelvis back tilt and lower lumbar lordosis.

Reliability and validity study of the Gujarati version of the Oswestry Disability Index 2.1a.
Among all musculoskeletal disorders back pain is the most common reason for functional limitation in working age. It is due to low back pain (LBP) that the ODI has become one of the principal outcome measures for evaluation of disability and has been widely used in research as well as in clinical practice. So far, validated Gujarati version of the ODI 2.1a has not been reported. ⋯ The Oswestry disability index version 2.1a was successfully translated into Gujarati language, showing excellent psychometric properties. Therefore, it can be used in evaluating the disability amongst Gujarati population with LBP for both clinical and research purposes.

Randomized Controlled TrialRegression of lumbar disc herniation by physiotherapy. Does non-surgical spinal decompression therapy make a difference? Double-blind randomized controlled trial.
The aim of the study determining whether or not Non-invasive Spinal Decompression Therapy (NSDT) was effective in resorption of herniation, increasing disc height in patients with lumbar disc herniation (LHNP). ⋯ This study showed that patients with LHNP received physiotherapy had improvement based on clinical and radiologic evidence. NSDT can be used as assistive agent for other physiotherapy methods in treatment of lumbar disc herniation.
