Case ReportsComputed tomography-guided cement augmentation for pain relief of a symptomatic sternal fracture.
The authors report a novel application of cement augmentation for treatment of a symptomatic sternal fracture. Sternal fractures often cause debilitating pain and can affect ventilation. ⋯ The patient subsequently reported good pain relief and improved breathing. Sternoplasty may be a viable alternative for patients with sternal fractures and refractory pain.

Clinical TrialClinical utility of real-time fusion guidance for biopsy and ablation.
To show utility, accuracy, and clinical outcomes of electromagnetic tracking and multimodality image fusion for guidance of biopsy and radiofrequency (RF) ablation procedures. ⋯ The spatial accuracy of the navigation system is sufficient to display clinically relevant image guidance information during biopsy and RF ablation. Breath holding and respiratory gating are effective in minimizing the error associated with tissue motion. In 48% of cases, the navigation system provided information crucial for successful execution of the procedure. Fusion of real-time US with CT or prior diagnostic images may enable procedures that are not feasible with standard, single-modality image guidance.

Comparative StudyCompression of the celiac trunk caused by median arcuate ligament in children and adolescent subjects: evaluation with contrast-enhanced MR angiography and comparison with Doppler US evaluation.
Compression of the celiac trunk by the median arcuate ligament can lead to clinically significant reduction in celiac blood flow and cause clinical symptoms. Doppler ultrasound (US) can be used to screen for stenoses of the celiac trunk and to reduce unnecessary catheter angiography. A noninvasive alternative method is magnetic resonance (MR) angiography. ⋯ MR angiography can confirm the diagnosis of median arcuate ligament syndrome by demonstrating the characteristic focal narrowing of the celiac artery in children presenting with the appropriate clinical symptoms and is an excellent alternative to catheter angiography, especially in a pediatric population.

Comparative StudyComparison of a suspended radiation protection system versus standard lead apron for radiation exposure of a simulated interventionalist.
To evaluate the radiation protective characteristics of a system designed to enhance operator protection while eliminating weight to the body and allowing freedom of motion. ⋯ Relative to a conventional lead apron, the Zgrav system provided a 16-78-fold decrease in radiation exposure for a mock interventionalist in a simulated clinical setting.
