Hill-Sachs remplissage, an arthroscopic solution for the engaging Hill-Sachs lesion: 2- to 10-year follow-up and incidence of recurrence.
This paper presents the results of arthroscopic remplissage in the treatment of traumatic anterior shoulder instability in a difficult subgroup of patients with both glenoid bone loss and a significant Hill-Sachs lesion. ⋯ Level IV, case series, treatment study.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyShoulder function after surgical treatment of displaced fractures of the humeral shaft: a randomized trial comparing antegrade intramedullary nailing with minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis.
Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis for humeral shaft fractures has been described recently, but there are no randomized studies comparing the clinical results for shoulder function between this technique and locking intramedullary nailing. ⋯ There is no significant difference in shoulder function between antegrade intramedullary nailing and minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis for the treatment of displaced humeral shaft fractures, despite the limited power of our study.

Treatment choice affects inpatient adverse events and mortality in older aged inpatients with an isolated fracture of the proximal humerus.
This study tests the null hypothesis that, among patients aged 65 and older admitted to a United States hospital with an isolated fracture of the proximal humerus (no other injuries or fractures), there are no differences between operative (fixation or arthroplasty) and nonoperative treatments with respect to inpatient adverse events, inpatient mortality, and discharge to a long-term care facility rates accounting for comorbidities. ⋯ Level III, retrospective cohort study, treatment study.

Comparative StudyEffect of glenoid cementation on total shoulder arthroplasty for degenerative arthritis of the shoulder: a review of the New Zealand National Joint Registry.
Despite the lack of literature showing improved results compared with cemented designs, uncemented glenoid components are still commonly used in total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA). Most studies comparing cemented with uncemented glenoids involve small numbers or include patients with inflammatory arthritis. ⋯ Level III, retrospective cohort, treatment study.

ReviewPectoralis major tendon transfer for irreparable subscapularis tears.
Subscapularis insufficiency is a debilitating condition with few treatment options. Historically, pectoralis major tendon transfer has been suggested when the subscapularis tendon or muscle is deemed irreparable; however, the results of this salvage procedure have been mixed. ⋯ Review article.
