The effect of analgesic education on pain in patients undergoing breast surgery: within 24 hours after the operation.
The goal of this study was to assess the effect of patient information about the analgesics used after breast surgery, on patient's level of pain and mobilisation ability. ⋯ The findings of this study can provide guidance to nurses and improve analgesic control of pain management.

This study examines the relationship between hospital work environments and job satisfaction, job-related burnout and intention to leave among nurses in Guangdong province, China. ⋯ The findings of this study indicate that improving work environments is essential to deal with the nursing shortage; the findings provide motivation for nurse managers and policy makers to improve work environments of hospital nurses in China.

To explore nurses' challenges in managing pain among ill patients in critical care. ⋯ There is a need for nursing education on pain management. Providing up to date and practical strategies may help to reduce nurses' challenges in managing pain among critically ill patients. Broader autonomy and effective decision making can be seen as beneficial for the nurses besides having a clearer and structured pain management guidelines.

The purpose of this study was (1) to explore postoperative pain experience among Chinese thoracotomy patients during hospitalisation; (2) to identify patient-related barriers to pain management; and (3) to explore how these barriers were related to patients' pain experience. ⋯ Education approach for patients is inadequate to improve the status of unrelieved postoperative pain. Appropriate pain management regime together with attentive nursing care should be provided to achieve better pain relief for Chinese patients.

The aim was to explore healthcare workers' duty concerns in the isolation wards during the novel H1N1 pandemic. ⋯ It is important for mangers to provide a support to healthcare workers during influenza pandemic by providing a clear guideline/policy for case management and demonstrating appreciation for the frontline healthcare workers to minimise the risk for high staff turnover rates.
