To explore the factors that influence community children's nurses' (CCNs') perceptions of their workload. To identify ways that CCNs develop and maintain continuity of care and carer. ⋯ This project provides some illustrations of the way continuity of care may be achieved at the informational, management and relational levels of practice. The typology of continuity of care allows the discrete areas of CCN work to be highlighted and explored, providing insights on an area of practice that is under-reported. The study provides a basis for future research to examine the different configurations of CCN services for the same client group or services for different clients, e.g. diabetes care, so that service providers may configure provision to meet children's and their family's needs.

To compare the physical fitness levels of Hong Kong and mainland Chinese school children and to study the association between any differences and their respective lifestyles. ⋯ Lifestyle could possibly be a key factor and predictor of physical fitness and health outcomes. The finding of this study may enhance the identification of healthy lifestyle which may improve health outcomes in children.

To test the impact of a multi-coloured non-conventional attire on a population of children admitted to a paediatric hospital. ⋯ The use of non-conventional nurses' attire can contribute to improve the child-nurse relation, which has the potential to ease the discomfort experienced by children due to hospitalisation.

To explore the expectations of final year nursing students before they start employment and to describe the experiences of newly graduated nurses during their first six months of employment as registered nurses. ⋯ Individuals in clinical practice settings need to be cognisant of the significant role that experienced registered nurses and nurse unit managers occupy in the socialisation of new graduate nurses. Additionally, there needs to be increased awareness that nursing culture can influence recruitment and retention of new graduates. Further, health care organisations need to evaluate the benefits of new graduates rotating through clinical areas in the first 12 months of employment.

The effectiveness of silver-releasing dressings in the management of non-healing chronic wounds: a meta-analysis.
The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy of silver-releasing dressings in the management of non-healing chronic wounds. ⋯ The results of this study provide objective data on the effectiveness of silver-related dressing when applied to non-healing chronic wounds.
