This study aimed to estimate the health preference scores of the Chinese population with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) using the EQ-5D-5L Hong Kong (HK) population tariff according to different sociodemographic characteristics in HK. ⋯ The EQ-5D index scores varied among DM patient characteristics and were more highly impaired with multimorbidity status. Interventions targeting at-risk subgroups, such as modifying single-diseased guidelines, might be helpful to improve their HRQoL.

Dyslipidaemia is a common chronic disease in China but is among the list of diseases treated by basic public health services. In this study, we aimed to use the European Quality of Life Five Dimension Five Level Scale (EQ-5D-5L) and visual analogue scale (VAS) to compare differences in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) between dyslipidaemic and non-dyslipidaemic individuals in rural China and to explore possible causes for the underlying differences. ⋯ The prevalence rate of dyslipidaemia was 43.05%, and it was correlated with a lower HRQoL. Age, sleep quality, non-communicable diseases, and depression may be significant predictors of the utility index and VAS scores. Patients were unaware of the risks of dyslipidaemia caused by an unhealthy lifestyle.

To develop a Dutch-Flemish translation of the PROMIS® upper extremity (PROMIS-UE) item bank v2.0, and to investigate its cross-cultural and construct validity as well as its floor and ceiling effects in patients with musculoskeletal UE disorders. ⋯ A Dutch-Flemish PROMIS-UE item bank v2.0 has been developed that showed sufficient cross-cultural and construct validity as well as absence of floor and ceiling effects.

Measuring quality of life in acute asthmatics is challenging, especially when asthma attacks can occur sporadically. Several questionnaires can be used to measure quality of life in this patient group; however, psychometric testing is limited on questionnaires that can be used to estimate Quality Adjusted Life years. The objective of this study is to assess the construct validity (convergent and discriminative validity) and responsiveness of the EuroQol-5-Dimensions 5-Level (EQ-5D-5L), Asthma Quality of Life Utility Index-5 Dimensions (AQL-5D) and Time Trade-Off (TTO) in acute asthma patients. ⋯ The EQ-5D-5L and AQL-5D showed stronger construct validity and responsiveness compared to the TTO. Therefore, both the EQ-5D-5L and AQL-5D should be considered for use in future economic evaluations.
