Multicenter StudyIntensive care nurses' experiences of end-of-life care.
To explore intensive care nurses' experiences of end-of-life care in adult intensive care units. ⋯ End-of-life care can be difficult and a challenging process. Nevertheless, this study has highlighted some of the interventions and support systems that could be incorporated for improved caring process. Whereas the dying patients and their families need to be continuously supported, critical care nurses too need to be taken care of for them to continue providing the best possible end-of-life care.

The patient's perception of a delirium: A qualitative research in a Belgian intensive care unit.
This research aims to describe the intensive care patients' perception of a delirium. ⋯ Interviewees recollected a vivid delirium with unrealistic scenes. The study delivered a first understanding of patients' perceptions during a delirium. This qualitative research tried to image the patients' perceptions providing nurses, physicians, other health-care workers as well as patients and their family with a better insight into the syndrome. Targeted interventions may be developed to relieve the burden of the syndrome.

Multicenter StudyIntensive care unit nurse managers' views regarding nurse staffing in their units in South Africa.
To explore the views of the intensive care unit (ICU) nurse managers regarding nurse staffing in the large ICUs. ⋯ The findings demonstrate the importance of provision of ICU trained nurses for patient care, rather than nurse staffing simply to balance the numbers.
