Quality of life, anxiety prevalence, depression symptomatology and suicidal ideation among acne patients in Lithuania.
We aimed to determine the prevalence of anxiety, depression symptomatology and suicidal ideation among patients with acne and the impact of this skin condition on the quality of life in Lithuania. ⋯ More than a half of the patients with acne who participated at the study had comorbid emotional disorders. Anxiety was the most prevalent sign, 1.7-fold more prevalent than depression and threefold more prevalent than suicidal ideation. Depression was prevalent in more than every fourth responder and suicidal ideation afflicted every eighth acne patient. More than 90% of the patients had impaired life quality.

Randomized Controlled TrialEfficacy of ixekizumab compared to etanercept and placebo in patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis and non-pustular palmoplantar involvement: results from three phase 3 trials (UNCOVER-1, UNCOVER-2 and UNCOVER-3).
Palmoplantar psoriasis has significant physical and emotional impact on patients and can be difficult to treat. ⋯ In a subpopulation analysis of patients from phase 3 trials with moderate-to-severe non-pustular palmoplantar involvement and moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, ixekizumab treatment resulted in greater and more rapid improvements than placebo and etanercept at week 12; improvements were sustained with continued treatment.

Lower prevalence of chronic itch in haemodialysis patients on loop diuretics: results from GEHIS (German Epidemiological Hemodialysis Itch Study).
Chronic itch (CI) is a very tormenting symptom in haemodialysis (HD) patients. GEHIS (German Epidemiological Hemodialysis Itch Study) is a representative cross-sectional study showing that current chronic itch (CI) affects 25.2% of haemodialysis (HD) patients. ⋯ Loop diuretics may have an impact on the development of CI in HD patients. As it is most likely that a multifactorial origin may explain CI in HD, future research should also focus on the role of loop diuretics in CI, both on a clinical as well as on a molecular level.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyPhase I randomized study of KHK4083, an anti-OX40 monoclonal antibody, in patients with mild to moderate plaque psoriasis.
OX40 (CD134) is expressed in lesional but not healthy skin of patients with psoriasis. KHK4083 is a fully human monoclonal antibody against OX40. ⋯ KHK4083 administration as a single dose up to 10 mg/kg IV or 1.0 mg/kg SC was generally safe and well tolerated in patients with mild to moderate plaque psoriasis with no dose-limiting AEs.
