To determine predictors of failure to achieve minimal clinical important difference (MCID) for pain and disability at discharge after mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT)-based multimodal rehabilitation for neck pain (NP). ⋯ Although MDT-based multimodal rehabilitation helped to achieve significant reduction in pain and disability in mechanical NP, several baseline risk factors were associated with failure to achieve MCID for pain and disability after treatment. Identifying and modifying these factors as part of rehabilitation treatment may help to achieve better outcomes in mechanical NP.

High- versus low-viscosity cement vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture: a meta-analysis.
To compare high- versus low-viscosity bone cement on the clinical outcomes and complications in patients with Osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs) who underwent percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) or percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP). ⋯ There were lower cement leakage rates in PVP/PKP with high-viscosity bone cement than low-viscosity bone cement. The two groups have similar results in ODI, but the VAS scores favor high-viscosity bone cement. Therefore, the administration of high-viscosity bone cement in PVP/ PKP could be a potential option for improving the complications of leakage in OVCFs, while the clinical efficacy of relieving pain is not certain.

The aim of this work was to investigate the risk factors for cement leakage and new-onset OVCF after Percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) and to develop and validate a clinical prediction model (Nomogram). ⋯ The established Nomogram and web calculator (https://dr-lee.shinyapps.io/RefractureApp/) (https://dr-lee.shinyapps.io/LeakageApp/) can effectively predict the occurrence of cement leakage and new OVCF after PVP.

No evidence-based treatment exists for adult spinal deformity (ASD) patients with chronic low back pain (CLBP). ⋯ This is the first study showing beneficial outcomes of a non-surgical treatment in selected ASD patients with longstanding CLBP. Improvement is shown in functional status, and appeared equivalent to the non-ASD cohort. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE 1: Diagnostic: individual cross-sectional studies with the consistently applied reference standard and blinding.

Kickstand rods and correction of coronal malalignment in patients with adult spinal deformity.
Coronal malalignment (CM) is a challenging spinal deformity to treat. The kickstand rod (KR) technique is powerful for correcting truncal shift. This study tested the hypothesis that the KR technique provides superior coronal alignment correction in adult deformity compared with traditional rod techniques. ⋯ Application of the KR technique to coronal spinal deformity in adults allows for successful treatment of CM. Compared to traditional rod techniques, the use of KRs did not improve clinical outcome measures 1 year after spinal deformity surgery but was associated with better postoperative coronal alignment.
