The application of conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in combination with diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and diffusion tensor tractography (DTT) to diagnose acute traumatic cervical SCI has not been studied. This study explores the role of MRI with DTI-DTT in the diagnosis of acute traumatic cervical spinal cord injury (SCI). ⋯ The combination of conventional MRI with DTI-DTT is a valid diagnostic approach for SCI. Lower IMLL and IMHL, and higher FA value and CRFT are linked to better neurological outcomes.

To investigate the optimal lowest instrumented vertebra (LIV) in the treatment of Scheuermann kyphosis (SK) with different curve patterns. ⋯ Shorter fusion stopping at SSV-1 achieved comparable clinical outcomes and did not increase the risk of DJK for both STK and STLK patients. For patients whose preoperative LIV-PSVL < - 37.35 mm, extending fusion to SSV is an acceptable solution to prevent DJK.

Foot drop is a syndrome resulting from weakness or paralysis of the tibialis anterior muscle. Some patients with thoracic disc herniation seek medical help complain of foot drop as the initial symptom. The study investigated the clinical characteristics of these patients and clarified the clinical efficacy after treatment. ⋯ Foot drop can be the initial symptom caused by thoracic disc herniation at the T11-L1 level, especially for the calcified disc herniation. A satisfactory recovery rate can be achieved by surgical decompression with fixation.
