To assess the diagnostic performance of three-dimensional (3D) CT-based texture features (TFs) using a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based framework to differentiate benign (osteoporotic) and malignant vertebral fractures (VFs). ⋯ Three-dimensional CT-based global TF skewness assessed using a CNN-based framework showed significant difference between benign and malignant thoracolumbar VFs and may therefore contribute to the clinical diagnostic work-up of patients with VFs.

The goals were to ascertain if differences in imaging/clinical characteristics between women and men were associated with differences in fusion for lumbar degenerative spondylolisthesis. ⋯ There were differences in imaging characteristics between men and women, and women were more likely to undergo fusion. Differences in fusion within groups indicate that decisions for fusion were based on composite assessments of clinical and imaging characteristics that varied between men and women.

The purpose of the study was to investigate several potential imaging biomarkers of CLBP that may be useful for diagnosis and treatment efficacy evaluation. Proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS) was used to detect the content and ratio of creatine (Cr), choline (Cho), and lipid (Lip) in the multifidus muscle (Mm) in patients with CLBP and to test for relationships between these metabolites and pain severity and duration. ⋯ Using 1H-MRS, we demonstrated higher Lip and Lip/Cr ratios in the Mm of patients with CLBP, compared to asymptomatic controls. Mm Lip was correlated with CLBP intensity. An increase in Lip in the Mm may be a characteristic finding in CLBP and may offer a useful prognostic marker for guiding rehabilitation strategies.

The aim of this study; evaluate lumbar lordosis (LL) in symptomatic individuals with six different techniques and to examine the techniques comparatively. Thus, to provide an overview of lumbal lordosis and techniques. ⋯ In this study, it was found that the mean lumbar lordosis values of symptomatic participants were lower than most of the other asymptomatic studies in the literature and there was no significant difference in lumbar lordosis values in terms of gender and age in symptomatic individuals. Based on statistical findings, Risser Ferguson can be used to assess LL. These results and the data obtained as a result of the comparative examination of techniques according to age groups and gender will benefit clinicians and those working in the field by providing a better understanding LL.

This study aimed to demonstrate the impact of lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) on LBP after cervical laminoplasty for cervical spinal stenosis by analyzing the clinical characteristics and surgical outcomes. ⋯ LBP improved after cervical laminoplasty in patients without lumbar stenosis.
