Patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) are important tools to assess patient function, pain, disability, and quality of life. We aim to study the efficiency and validity of digital PROMs collection using a smartphone app compared to traditional paper PROMs. ⋯ The SpineHealthie app effectively and accurately collects PROMs digitally, showing strong concordance with traditional paper PROMs. We conclude that digital PROMs constitute a promising strategy for monitoring patients after spine surgery over time.

2nd and 3rd generation endoscopic spine surgery techniques offer visualisation of familiar inter-laminar anatomy to spinal surgeons. We have prospectively evaluated the clinical outcome, complications and learning curve associated with these techniques in patients with lumbar spine radiculopathy. ⋯ Level 3, prospective cohort study.

The optimal surgical management of low- and high-grade isthmic spondylolisthesis (LGS and HGS -IS) is debated as well as whether reduction is needed especially for high-grade spondylolisthesis. Both anterior and posterior techniques can be associated with mechanical disadvantages as hardware failure with loss of reduction and L5 injury. We purpose a novel endoscopic-assisted technique (Sled technique, ST) to achieve a complete reduction in two surgical steps: first anteriorly through a retroperitoneal approach to obtain the greatest part of correction and then posteriorly to complete reduction in the same operation. ⋯ gov Identifier: NCT03644407.

To describe the surgical technique and methodology to successfully plan and execute an endoscopic foraminotomy in patients with isthmic or degenerative spondylolisthesis, according to each patient's unique characteristics. ⋯ In the presented case series, endoscopic foraminotomy achieved satisfactory outcomes without sacrificing segmental stability. The proposed patient-specific "tailored" approach allowed to successfully design and execute the surgical strategy to perform an endoscopic foraminotomy through transforaminal or interlaminar contralateral approaches.

Articles evaluating radiofrequency (RF) safety are insufficient. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate RF safety during biportal endoscopic lumbar decompressive laminotomy by measuring epidural temperature after RF use. ⋯ The use of RF in biportal endoscopic spine surgery might be safe. In order to reduce indirect thermal injuries caused by RF use, it might be necessary to reduce RF use time and maintain continuous saline irrigation patency well.
