Recently, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols have attracted attention; they emphasize on avoiding intraoperative hypothermia while performing lumbar fusion surgery. However, none of the studies have reported the protocol for determining the temperature of saline irrigation during biportal endoscopic spine surgery (BESS) procedure. This study evaluated the effectiveness of warm saline irrigation during BESS in acute postoperative pain and inflammatory reactions. ⋯ Using warm saline irrigation during BESS is beneficial for early recovery after surgery, as it is associated with reduced postoperative pain and complication rates.

This study aimed to develop and validate a machine learning (ML) model to predict high-grade heterotopic ossification (HO) following Anterior cervical disc replacement (ACDR). ⋯ Through an ML approach, the model identified risk factors and predicted development of high grade HO following ACDR with good discrimination and overall performance. By addressing the shortcomings of traditional statistics and adopting a new logical approach, ML techniques can support discovery, clinical decision-making, and intraoperative techniques better.

To investigate the effectiveness and safety of separation surgery for Epidural Spinal Cord Compression (ESCC) graded ≥ 2 in patients with Multiple Myeloma (MM), analyze factors influencing surgical outcomes, and develop a preliminary treatment decision framework for these patients. ⋯ Separation surgery effectively alleviates pain, improves neurological function, and enhances the quality of life in patients with ESCC graded ≥ 2 due to MM.

To evaluate the responsiveness of the original low back pain specific Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and the spinal stenosis specific Zürich Claudication Questionnaire (ZCQ), and to investigate cut-off values for clinical "success" for ODI and ZCQ in surgically treated patients with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). ⋯ ODI and ZCQ demonstrate comparable responsiveness in evaluating outcomes for surgically treated LSS patients. The 30% ODI threshold was consistent with treatment "success" in NORDSTEN trials.

Endoscopic double line suture repair technique for repairing Iatrogenic dural tear: a technical case report.
Introducing a suture repair technology, endoscopic double line suture repair technique, for iatrogenic dural injury during Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy (PELD) surgery. ⋯ This novel dural repair technology is safe and effective and can be used to treat dural injuries during PELD surgery.
