Degos disease is a rare idiopathic vasculopathy with multisystem involvement. We present a previously healthy 40-year-old woman who developed spontaneous small bowel infarctions and perforations 17 months after presentation with characteristic skin lesions. The abdominal CT findings of Degos disease, which have not been previously depicted in the radiology literature, are discussed.

Current evidence for the use of FDG PET/PET-CT in staging thoracic oesophageal and GOJ cancer is reviewed. ⋯ The contribution of FDG PET CT to the investigation of patients with primary thoracic oesophageal and GOJ cancer has resulted in improved staging, so providing the ability to optimise treatment.

We prospectively examined unenhanced MR imaging findings in relation to pathologic fibrosis, inflammation and steatosis in patients with compensated chronic hepatitis C viral infection (HCV). ⋯ A combination of MRI and laboratory findings was most predictive of fibrosis and inflammation.

Liposarcoma is the most common primary retroperitoneal malignant neoplasm. However, preoperative diagnosis is a common problem due to lack of characteristic clinical presentations. It has been assumed that MRI, based on its high soft-tissue resolution, could discover and discern different subtypes of this tumor. Moreover, there has been little in the literature to compare the MRI features with pathological appearances of the retroperitoneal liposarcomas. ⋯ MRI can clearly demonstrate shape, margin, internal components and surrounding tissues. Different subtypes of retroperitoneal liposarcoma exhibited varying MRI features, depending on tumor histological components. MRI should be an ideal method for diagnosing retroperitoneal liposarcoma.

The patient was a 80-year-old female who was diagnosed as having gallbladder torsion preoperatively. To out knowledge, this is the first reported case diagnosed by CT with a multidetector CT scanner. ⋯ If treated surgically, gallbladder detorsion before cholecystectomy is a helpful technique to avoid bile duct injury. This condition should be suspected in elderly women with acute abdominal pain of unknown origin, and MDCT with multiplanar reformation is very useful in making a definitive diagnosis.
