Randomized Controlled TrialCold versus cold compression therapy after shoulder arthroscopy: a prospective randomized clinical trial.
Purpose of the present study was to investigate the acute effects of a cold compression bandage on pain, swelling and skin-surface temperature after the first 24 h after arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder in a stationary setting and to compare it with cold therapy using only a cold pack. It was hypothesized that using the bandage is more effective in reducing pain and swelling after 24 h compared with using only a cold pack. ⋯ II.

Poor osteochondral repair by a biomimetic collagen scaffold: 1- to 3-year clinical and radiological follow-up.
Treatment of osteochondral injuries is challenging, and no gold standard has been established. Layered cell-free scaffolds are a new treatment option for these defects. The aim of this study was to evaluate the osteochondral repair in patients treated with the MaioRegen(®) scaffold, a cell-free biomimetic scaffold consisting of type I collagen and hydroxyapatite. Treatment using this scaffold has previously shown promising clinical results. ⋯ Prospective therapeutic study, Level IV.

There are no studies on the epidemiology of plantaris injuries in a sporting population. This retrospective cohort study presents the incidence, nature and outcome of plantaris injuries in elite British track and field athletes. ⋯ IV.
