Effect of muscle preserved on tendon graft on intra-articular healing in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
The aim of this study was to determine the impact on intra-articular healing of muscle tissue retained on tendon grafts used for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. ⋯ Results of this study indicate that muscle left on tendon grafts promotes intra-articular healing and remodeling of the graft in a rabbit model. However, excessive amounts of retained skeletal muscle weaken tendon graft's strength for ACL reconstruction. Preserving small amounts of muscle on tendon grafts is feasible for improving the biological success of ACL reconstruction in humans.

Meta AnalysisThe effects of arthroscopic joint debridement in the knee osteoarthritis: results of a meta-analysis.
Knee osteoarthritis is one of the most common orthopaedic diseases. Therapeutic options for this disease include conservative treatments and arthroscopic debridement and partial or complete replacement. This meta-analysis aimed to collect and analyse the available information on the effects of arthroscopic joint debridement related to the clinical outcomes, the required conversion to replacement and the factors for patient selection. ⋯ Systematic review of studies, Level III.

Meta AnalysisPrimary ligament sutures as a treatment option of knee dislocations: a meta-analysis.
Treatment of knee dislocation is still controversial. There is no evidence to favour ligament suture or reconstruction. Until now, no meta-analyses have examined suture versus reconstruction of cruciate ligaments in knee dislocations with respect to injury pattern and rupture classification. ⋯ IV.

Patient recall of surgical information after day case knee arthroscopy.
Day case knee arthroscopy is frequently performed on dedicated lists designed to optimise the throughput of patients. This could affect patient recall of clinical information with clinical, ethical and medicolegal consequences. The purpose of this study was to assess patient recall after knee arthroscopy and identify potential contributory factors. ⋯ IV.
