Despite patient-reported outcomes improve, patients with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome do not increase their objectively measured sport and physical activity level 1 year after hip arthroscopic surgery. Results from the HAFAI cohort.
Patients with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) are young and middle-aged persons living physically active lives including sports activities. However, measurements of the physical activity level before and after hip arthroscopic surgery in patients with FAIS using both self-reported and objective accelerometer-based measures are lacking. Furthermore, comparing patients with a reference group of persons reporting no hip problems and conducting subgroup analyses investigating changes in physical activity level and self-reported outcomes according to pre-surgery activity level may further highlight the activity pattern for patients. ⋯ II.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyClinical results and short-term survivorship of robotic-arm-assisted medial and lateral unicompartmental knee arthroplasty.
The aim of this multicentre, retrospective, observational study was to determine the incidence of revision and clinical results of a large cohort of robotic-arm-assisted medial and lateral UKAs at short-term follow-up. It was hypothesized that patients who receive robotic-arm-assisted UKA will have high survivorship rates and satisfactory clinical results. ⋯ Retrospective cohort study, Level IV.

Difference in joint line convergence angle between the supine and standing positions is the most important predictive factor of coronal correction error after medial opening wedge high tibial osteotomy.
Coronal correction errors after medial opening wedge high tibial osteotomy (MOWHTO) occasionally occur even with the assistance of navigation. The purpose of the present study was to determine the navigation accuracy in MOWHTO and to identify factors that affect the coronal correction error after navigation-assisted MOWHTO. ⋯ IV.

Patients aged in their 70s do not have a high risk of progressive osteoarthritis following arthroscopic femoroacetabular impingement correction and labral preservation surgery.
The purposes of this study were to (1) evaluate the effect of age on clinical outcomes of arthroscopic femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) with labral preservation surgery and (2) identify predictors of poor postoperative clinical outcomes. ⋯ III.

Design improvement in patient-specific instrumentation for total knee arthroplasty improved the accuracy of the tibial prosthetic alignment in the coronal and axial planes.
The accuracy of patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is still controversial, especially in the tibial prosthesis. It was hypothesized that the design modification of PSI improved the tibial prosthetic alignment and reduced the associated complications. The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of a conventional PSI with that of a newly designed PSI for total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using a new three-dimensional (3D) measurement method. ⋯ Therapeutic study, case-control study, Level III.
