Posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms and coping with the lockdown among help-seeking veterans before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To compare the severity of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms and of particular PTSD clusters among help-seeking veterans before and during the COVID-19 lockdown. The second aim was to identify the main coping strategies used. ⋯ The severity of PTSD symptoms decreased during the lockdown. Further research is needed to study the trajectories of long-term psychopathology.

Case ReportsAtrial fibrillation as a contributing factor in the diagnostic algorithm for coronary subclavian steal syndrome and cardiac tamponade following coronary artery bypass graft surgery: a case study.
Coronary subclavian steal syndrome (CSSS) is a complication of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery in patients with coexistent significant subclavian artery stenosis (SAS). It is characterized by a retrograde blood flow through the left internal mammary artery graft from the coronary to subclavian circulation, leading to myocardial ischemia. Current screening for CSSS includes bilateral blood pressure measurement for the detection of a significant inter-arm blood pressure difference. ⋯ The patient was discharged in good condition with adequate medicament therapy and instructions. This case report highlights atrial fibrillation as a contributing factor for the diagnosis of CSSS and pericardial tamponade after CABG surgery. Furthermore, we suggest a diagnostic approach that can reduce the incidence of both these severe complications.

Clinical and pathohistological characteristics of Alport spectrum disorder caused by COL4A4 mutation c.193-2A>C: a case series.
To present the pathohistological and clinical characteristics of five Croatian families with Alport spectrum disorders caused by splice acceptor pathogenic variant c.193-2A>C in COL4A4 at the genomic position chr2:227985866. ⋯ The homozygous patient had hematuria and proteinuria with preserved kidney function. The heterozygous patients presented with reasonably mild clinical phenotype and variable pathohistological findings.

A novel mutation in FK506 binding protein-like (FKBPL) causes male infertility.
To perform a mutation analysis of FK506 binding protein-like (FKBPL) in patients with azoospermia. ⋯ Our study supports the literature on the etiologic effects of changes on autosomal chromosomes and highlights the importance of molecular analysis of all known and unknown genes that could be involved in male sexual development and function.

Sex differences in oxidative stress level and antioxidative enzymes expression and activity in obese pre-diabetic elderly rats treated with metformin or liraglutide.
To determine the effects of metformin or liraglutide on oxidative stress level and antioxidative enzymes gene expression and activity in the blood and vessels of pre-diabetic obese elderly Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats of both sexes. ⋯ Obesity and antidiabetic drugs caused sex-related differences in the level of antioxidative parameters. Liraglutide exhibited stronger antioxidative effects than metformin. These results indicate that weight gain due to HSHFD is crucial for developing oxidative stress and for inhibiting antioxidative protective mechanisms.
