Drugs and various medical substances have been used for many decades to diagnose or treat diseases. Procedures like surgery and anesthesia (either local or general) use different pharmacological products during these events. In most of the cases, the procedure is safe and the physician performs the technique without incidents. ⋯ Artificial intelligence may be a useful tool in approximating the risk of anaphylaxis before undertaking a medical procedure. This material presents these undesirable responses produced by medical products from a multidisciplinary point of view. Moreover, we present a proof of concept for using artificial intelligence as a possible guardship against intraoperative anaphylaxis.

Acute Eosinophilic Pneumonia after Combined Use of Conventional and Heat-Not-Burn Cigarettes: A Case Report.
Background: Acute eosinophilic pneumonia (AEP) is a rare acute respiratory disease accompanied by fever, shortness of breath, and cough. Although the pathogenesis of the disease is not yet established, the patient's condition improves with a rapid therapeutic response to systemic corticosteroids. Conventional cigarettes or heat-not-burn cigarettes are the most common cause of AEP among young people. ⋯ Results: The early treatment of AEP yields a good prognosis, but since the symptoms of AEP are similar to those of infectious diseases such as community-acquired pneumonia, physicians should be meticulous in differentiating AEP from other diseases. Conclusions: Since AEP shows a good response to steroids, early detection using an appropriate diagnostic method is recommended. In addition, there should be strong education against smoking in any form.

Background and Objectives: The interaction between dental alloys and saliva affects both its own properties and those of metallic materials. Materials and Methods: Samples made of Cr-Co and Ni-Cr were studied. It was opted for corrosion under tension, scanning electron microscopy was used to characterize the surface morphology, and the chemical composition of the surface was assessed with the help of an Energy Dispersive Spectrometer. ⋯ Mostly Nickel passes into the solution, unlike Chromium and Cobalt, which remain at this level. We noticed an increase in the viability of cell cultures in the case of Cr-Co alloy and a decrease in the number of living cells (87%) for Ni-Cr alloy. Conclusions: Common alloys (Ni-Cr and Cr-Co) are prone to corrosion, because they lack structural features that would shield the alloy from corrosion agents.

Osteochondral lesion (OCL) of the patellofemoral (PF) joint is not an uncommon cause of knee pain, and surgery is needed when conservative treatment fails. However, there is a lack of evidence regarding the optimal surgical treatment for OCL of the PF joint. Fixation of OCLs using autogenous osteochondral grafts has been reported to be effective for OCL of the knee. ⋯ The quality of the osteochondral grafts was considered to be insufficient for stabilization of the OCL; thus, two bioabsorbable pins were additionally inserted following fixation of the lesion using three osteochondral grafts. After two years of follow-up, postoperative functional scores were favorable without knee pain. The present case suggests that fixation of the OCL using autogenous osteochondral grafts may not be appropriate for young patients with open physes.

Massive Spontaneous Pneumomediastinum-A Form of Presentation for Severe COVID-19 Pneumonia.
For COVID-19 pneumonia, many manifestations such as fever, dyspnea, dry cough, anosmia and tiredness have been described, but differences have been observed from person to person according to age, pulmonary function, damage and severity. In clinical practice, it has been found that patients with severe forms of infection with COVID-19 develop serious complications, including pneumomediastinum. Although two years have passed since the beginning of the pandemic with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and progress has been made in understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the COVID-19 infection, there are also unknown factors that contribute to the evolution of the disease and can lead to the emergence some complications. ⋯ During hospitalization, lung lesions evolved 80% pulmonary damage associated with pneumomediastinum and subcutaneous emphysema. After three months, the patient completely recovered and the pneumomediastinum fully recovered with the complete disappearance of the lesions. Pneumomediastinum is a severe and rare complication in COVID-19 pneumonia, especially in male patients, without risk factors, and an early diagnosis can increase the chances of survival.
