Background and Objectives: the purpose of this study was to evaluate students' level of knowledge and attitude towards oral hygiene. Materials and Methods: the evaluation was carried out by a questionnaire, with 30 Q (questions) as follows: demographic data (Q1-Q5), oral hygiene knowledge data (Q6-Q23) and oral hygiene attitude data (Q24-Q30). The study included students from Romanian schools and the selection of the study group was made following selection criteria in accordance with ethical issues. ⋯ Mouthwash is used by 421 (MS = 199; HS = 222) p = 0.111, r = -0.048, and 228 (MS = 199; HS = 222) after each brushing. Dental floss is used by 240 (MS = 106; HS = 134), p = 0.031, r = -0.073 and only 74 (MS = 41; HS = 33) after each brushing. Conclusions: there are differences in the level of knowledge and attitudes regarding the determinants of oral hygiene depending on the level of education.

Background and Objectives: Clinically, a major challenge of multiple nodule localization is puncture-related pneumothorax, which may hamper the successful localization. This study aims to investigate and compare the efficacy and safety of the simultaneous and sequential patent blue dye (PBD) injections for identifying multiple pulmonary nodules during preoperative CT-guided localization. Materials and Methods: Sixty-one consecutive patients with multiple pulmonary nodules who underwent preoperative CT-guided localization with PBD injections between January 2020 and December 2020 were retrospectively enrolled. ⋯ Additionally, a significantly lower radiation dose (2.7 vs. 3.5 mSv, p = 0.001) and a shorter procedure time (20.95 vs. 25.28 min, p = 0.001) were observed in the simultaneous group than in the sequential group. Conclusions: Compared with the sequential method, simultaneous PBD injections may improve the localization success rate with a shorter procedure time and less radiation exposure if the patient with multiple pulmonary nodules can be approached in a single position. Further prospective studies are needed to validate these results.

Background and Objectives: Steinmann pins are commonly used in orthopedics, with a low rate of complications. However, thermal osteonecrosis may occur when a pin is inserted using a drill. There have been no reports on late-onset fractures at the Steinmann pin insertion site. ⋯ Results: Six months after diagnosis, a complete union was achieved at the subtrochanteric fracture site, and the patient's pain subsided. Conclusions: A fracture that occurs as a late onset at the provisional Steinmann pin insertion site is an extremely rare complication; however, orthopedic surgeons must consider this possibility and make more efforts to lower the occurrence of thermal damage. In addition, if the patient complains of pain in the region where the pin was inserted after surgery, surgeons should spare no effort to determine whether a new fracture has occurred.

Background and Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate changes in uterine scar thickness after previous cesarean delivery longitudinally during pregnancy, and to correlate cesarean section (CS) scar myometrial thickness in the first trimester in two participants groups (CS scar with a niche and CS scar without a niche) with the low uterine segment (LUS) myometrial thickness changes between the second and third trimesters. Materials and Methods: In this prospective longitudinal study, pregnant women aged 18−41 years after at least one previous CS were included. Transvaginal sonography (TVS) was used to examine uterine scars after CS at 11−14 weeks. ⋯ The median difference between measurements in the CS scar niche group and non-niche group between the second and third trimester was 2.4 (IQR, 0.8−3.4) and 1.1 (IQR, 0.2−2.6) (p = 0.019), respectively. Myometrial LUS thickness as percentage decreases significantly between the second and third trimester in the CS scar niche group compared to the non-niche group (U = 1225; z = −2.438; p = 0.015). Conclusions: CS scar myometrial thickness changes throughout pregnancy and the appearance of the CS scar niche was associated with a more significant decrease in LUS myometrial thickness between the second and third trimesters.
