Objective: This article aims to describe a unique case of didanosine-induced retinal degeneration that was discovered 11 years after the drug withdrawal. Case report: The patient is a 42-year-old woman with a medical history of HIV and hepatitis C virus since 2004. She has been prescribed antiretroviral therapy since then. ⋯ Many of her drugs are known to be associated with retinopathy such as HCQ, tenofovir, efavirenz, and didanosine. Because our data corroborate peripheral retinal damage rather than posterior pole damage, this case report is compatible with didanosine-induced retinopathy rather than HCQ, efavirenz, or tenofovir retinal toxicity. Conclusions: All HIV patients who are presently or were previously on didanosine therapy should have their fundus examined utilising widefield fundus autofluorescence and photography.

Background and Objectives: One form of treatment for degenerative temporomandibular joint diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatic arthritis, TMJ ankylosis, and condylar resorption is total joint replacement. The aim of this study was to examine the function of the temporomandibular joint after prosthetic joint replacement. Materials and methods: Fifteen patients with unilateral or bilateral TMJ total joint replacements and 15 healthy controls were evaluated via a SICAT JMT+ device. ⋯ The p-value comparison study and control group indicated significant difference (p < 0.0001) between the two groups. The study group stated a high level of satisfaction with the total joint replacement. Conclusion: Within the limitations of the study, the following conclusions can be drawn: (1) TMJ replacement patients showed significantly limited jaw movements compared to the control group; (2) a small percentage of TMJ replacement patients still present low levels of pain but improved chewing ability and quality of life.

Adrenal Tumors in Young Adults: Case Reports and Literature Review.
The current high detection rate of adrenal tumors (4-10% of general population) is attributable to a widespread use of variety of imaging studies, especially a computed tomography. Most of them represent clinically silent and biologically indolent incidentalomas, but some adrenal tumors may pose a significant clinical challenge. Thus, in every patient with an adrenal tumor, a decision on further management is made after careful hormonal and radiological evaluation. ⋯ Younger patients are more likely to display endocrine symptoms, which raise the suspicion of an adrenal mass. In the current study, we present a case series of seven adrenal tumors occurring in young patients. The cases presented below, along with the literature review, demonstrate that the diagnosis and treatment of adrenal tumors are crucial due to endocrinopathy-derived complications and a potential risk of malignancy.

Background and Objectives: The aim of this systematic review was to determine whether prehabilitation before total hip arthroplasty, in the form of exercise therapy, education alone, or both together, improves postoperative outcomes, such as physical functioning, compared with no intervention. Materials and Methods: A systematic literature search was performed in the online databases PubMed, PEDro and Cochrane Library using the following search keywords: "prehabilitation", "preoperative care", and "total hip replacement". Results: A total of 400 potentially relevant studies were identified. ⋯ Education alone had no effect on postoperative outcomes. Conclusions: Prehabilitation in the form of a prehabilitation exercise therapy is an effective prehabilitation measure with regard to postoperative physical functioning, while prehabilitation in the form of education has no significant effects. No negative effects of prehabilitation on the outcomes examined were reported.

Background and Objectives: Three-dimensional planning and guided osteotomy utilizing patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) with the contralateral side used as a reference have been proven as effective in the treatment of malunions following complex fractures of the distal radius. However, this approach has not yet been described in relation to fracture reduction of the distal radius. The aim of this study was to assess the technical and logistical feasibility of computer-assisted surgery in a clinical setting using PSI for fracture reduction and fixation. ⋯ Mean wrist movements (°) were 58 (standard deviation (SD) 21) in flexion, 62 (SD 15) in extension, 73 (SD 4) in pronation and 74 (SD 10) in supination at a minimum follow-up of 6 months. Conclusions: Three-dimensional planned osteosynthesis using PSI for treatment of distal radius fractures is feasible and facilitates reduction of multiple fracture fragments. However, higher costs must be taken into consideration for this treatment.
