Introduction: Home confinement due to COVID-19 lockdown led to changes in daily routines, including social interactions, as well as restrictions on the possibility of playing sports and eating habits. These changes could have a greater impact on patients suffering from chronic diseases, such as endocrine patients, especially in emotional and behavioral dimensions. Materials and Methods: This study aimed to assess the effects of COVID-19-induced quarantine on daily habits in a group of patients with endocrine disorders, focusing on food consumption, eating habits and sleep during the confinement. ⋯ Notably, physical well-being resulted to be a predictive factor (OR = 0.38; 95%CI = [0.95,0.66]), whereas anxiety was a risk factor for sleep disorder (OR = 1.22; 95%CI = [1.10,1.40]), as was working in public and private offices and being a student. Conclusions: Changes in daily habits were likely due to the alterations in routine, resulting in greater boredom and inactivity during the day. In addition, future research should focus on the importance of patient adherence to therapy.

Preparing for Pregnancy in Women with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus-A Multidisciplinary Approach.
Pregnancy is one of the most challenging processes the human body is exposed to: the healthy mother can carry to term a genetically different new-born, while her immune system adapts to tolerate this new status and avoids rejection. In autoimmune disorders, motherhood is even more challenging, with additional medical counselling, mother care, and foetus development checks being necessary. While the aspects of supplementary mother care and pregnancy progress tracking are associated with well-established medical procedures and protocols, counselling, be it pre- or post-conception, is still underestimated and scarcely applied. ⋯ One particular aspect that requires attention before conception is the treatment scheme applied before delivery as autoantibodies can influence significantly the course of pregnancy. In this view, future SLE mothers should ideally benefit from preconception counselling within their agreed care pathway. A multidisciplinary team including at least the rheumatologist and obstetrician should be employed throughout the pregnancy, to decide on the appropriate timing of conception and compatible medication with respect to disease activity, as well as to monitor organ involvement and foetus development progress.

High-risk surgeries for patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) are challenging for anesthesiologists and can result in hemodynamic deterioration and even mortality. We describe a case in which remimazolam was used to induce and maintain general anesthesia for a high-risk, noncardiac surgery accompanied by ongoing bleeding. ⋯ Throughout the anesthetic process, the patient's cardiac index and systemic vascular resistance were well preserved without any vasopressor support. Remimazolam seems to have possible effectiveness as a relatively safe agent for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia in patients with severe AS who are undergoing high-risk, noncardiac surgery with bleeding.

Background and Objectives: Numbness, one of the complications after knee replacement (KR), has been studied far less than other complications, and there are few studies on this topic. Without comprehensive research on numbness, there is a need to design a study that includes all relevant parameters. This study investigated the relationship between numbness and pain and neuropathic pain and its impact on functional and emotional life and the functioning of the knee. ⋯ Conclusions: According to the results, numbness is considered to be a complication that affects social and physical life and has a negative impact on functional outcomes of the knee. The results show that it should be considered a statistically significant complication. Numbness and its indirect effects should be considered in patients whose follow-up parameters are normal over one year but whose symptoms do not resolve.
