Background and Objectives: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a disease with multiple organ involvement, and spontaneous hemorrhage, especially perirenal hemorrhage, is rare. Case Presentation: We report the case of a 19-year-old teenager with SLE who experienced left flank pain and hypovolemic shock. Abdominal computed tomography revealed a large left retroperitoneal hematoma. ⋯ The patient needed temporary regular kidney replacement therapy for active lupus nephritis, which terminated one month after discharge. Conclusions: When patients with SLE experience acute abdominal pain, flank pain, or back pain combined with hypovolemia, there is a higher risk of bleeding due to spontaneous hemorrhage, which should be included in the differential diagnosis. Therefore, early diagnosis and adequate emergency intervention are necessary.

Effects of Pelvic Floor Muscle Physiotherapy on Urinary, Bowel, and Sexual Functions in Women with Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Background and Objectives: Endometriosis is a chronic and recurrent disease defined as the presence and proliferation of endometrial glands and stroma outside the uterine cavity. It affects up to 6-10% of women of reproductive age and can be classified into superficial, ovarian, and deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE). Deep infiltrating endometriosis can be associated with pain symptoms and pelvic floor muscle hypertone. ⋯ Conclusion: In women with DIE, PFP does not appear to affect urinary, bowel, and sexual functions. Therefore, despite the improvement in superficial dyspareunia, chronic pelvic pain, and PFM relaxation with high treatment satisfaction, women should be informed about the unclear impact of PFP on urinary, bowel, and sexual functions. Larger studies are necessary to further investigate the impact of PFP on these functions.

Ameloblastoma is a benign epithelial tumor that has aggressive, destructive and unlimited growth potential, having the capacity for recurrence and malignant transformation. Regarding the symptoms and clinical signs, the presentation of ameloblastoma is poor. ⋯ The methods of treatment consist of radical surgery (segmental resection) and conservative treatments (enucleation with bone curettage). The particularity of the presented case is represented by the late request for medical consultation, a direct consequence of the measures implemented to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.

Cardiac Masses and Pseudomasses: An Overview about Diagnostic Imaging and Clinical Background.
A cardiac lesion detected at ultrasonography might turn out to be a normal structure, a benign tumor or rarely a malignancy, and lesion characterization is very important to appropriately manage the lesion itself. The exact relationship of the mass with coronary arteries and the knowledge of possible concomitant coronary artery disease are necessary preoperative information. ⋯ Therefore, CT and MRI are frequently performed imaging modalities when echocardiography is deemed insufficient to evaluate a lesion. A brief comprehensive overview about diagnostic radiological imaging and the clinical background of cardiac masses and pseudomasses is reported.

Supplementation of micronutrients is considered to be crucial in the reinforcement of the skin's barrier. In this paper, 14 nutritional compounds commonly used in food or pharmaceutic industries were analyzed in terms of influencing skin conditions. The major objective of this paper was to provide a narrative review of the available literature regarding several chosen compounds that are currently widely recommended as supplements that aim to maintain proper and healthy skin conditions. ⋯ Adding them to the diet or daily routine might have a positive influence on some skin inflammatory diseases such as atopic dermatitis or psoriasis. Further, UV radiation protection facilitated by some supplements and their impact on human cells might be helpful during chemotherapy or in preventing melanoma development. Further research is needed because of the lack of clear consensus regarding the doses of the described compounds that could provide desirable effects on the skin.
