Case Reports
Using Quantitative Hormonal Fertility Monitors to Evaluate the Luteal Phase: Proof of Concept Case Study.
Several new quantitative fertility monitors are now available for at-home use that measure estrogen, luteinizing hormone (LH), and progesterone (PDG) in urine. This case report compares the Mira and Inito quantitative fertility monitors with the well-established qualitative ClearBlue fertility monitor. ⋯ The identification of the luteal phase (or lack thereof in the case of anovulation) and the transition through the three processes of luteinization, progestation, and luteolysis were clearly demarcated with the help of quantitative LH and PDG. Quantitative fertility monitors have the potential to identify details of the luteal phase to help women with regular cycles and abnormal luteal phases to help target interventions for optimizing fertility.

Breast cancer treatment, such as chemotherapy and endocrine therapy, can cause earlier and more sudden menopausal symptoms. Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) is one of the most bothersome side effects of breast cancer treatment, resulting in sexual dysfunction and impaired quality of life. ⋯ The most recent data show the feasibility and safety of vaginal laser to treat GSM for breast cancer survivors. This narrative review provides the aspects of GSM in breast cancer patients, putting the focus on the efficacy and safety of vaginal laser therapy.

Observational Study
Assessment of Headache Characteristics, Impact, and Managing Techniques among Pharmacy and Nursing Undergraduates-An Observational Study.
Background and Objectives: Many different forms of headaches can change or impact daily activity and quality of life, which increases the financial burden on society over time. Undergraduates who get headaches may be absent from attending lectures, perform less well on their daily tasks and academic achievement, as well as struggle to build and maintain relationships with peers and mentors. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the headache-related characteristics and managing approaches among Saudi pharmacy and nursing students at a Saudi university, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. ⋯ More pharmacy students (66.1%) reported having severe headaches than nursing students (14.3%) (p = 0.0001). Conclusions: The current findings revealed that most of the undergraduates suffered from headaches, and the intensity of the pain was moderate; furthermore, one in four undergraduates reported that headaches impacted their academic performance. Caffeine and simple analgesics and anti-inflammatories were used for headache relief.

Phenotypes of Chronic Rhinosinusitis and Peripheral Blood Leukocytes Parameters in Elderly Patients.
Background and Objectives: Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a common disease that can be differentiated into two phenotypes, with or without polyps (CRSwNP) or CRSsNP), which may be unilateral (UNIL) or bilateral (BIL). CRS may have an impact on absolute neutrophils and lymphocytes count in peripheral blood. The aim of the study was to investigate whether the incidence of a specific CRS phenotype changes with age and to compare the values of neutrophils, lymphocytes and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio in the peripheral blood between groups of patients below and above 65 years of age with different CRS phenotypes. ⋯ In fact, in the <65 group, bilateral CRSsNP was more common. The absolute neutrophils and lymphocytes counts were significantly higher in the whole group of patients with CRS ≥65 years of age and absolute number of neutrophils was higher in ≥65 years of age group with bilateral CRSsNP. Conclusions: The higher number of neutrophils in the whole ≥65 years of age group and in older patients with bilateral CRSsNP may indicate that CRS, despite of phenotype, may be an important source of infection that requires surgical treatment in elderly patients as well.

Background and Objectives: There are limited data regarding the behavior of resin matrix ceramics for current CAD-CAM materials. Further studies may be beneficial and can help clinicians planning to use these materials during prosthodontic rehabilitation. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the flexural strength and strain distributions, filler content, wear, and reliability of two resin matrix ceramic CAD-CAM materials. ⋯ The flexural strength of material AH was superior to VE, and the strain distribution was compatible with this finding. Conclusions: The two resin matrix ceramics tested showed similar behavior in wear and reliability analysis. Both can provide safe use for dental crowns.
