Background and Objectives: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease whose impact on health is not only limited to the skin, but is also associated with multiple comorbidities. Early screening for comorbidities along with appropriate treatment plans can provide a positive prognosis for patients. This study aimed to summarize the knowledge structure in the field of psoriasis comorbidities and further explore its research hotspots and trends through bibliometrics. ⋯ Conclusions: Over the past 18 years, tremendous progress has been made in research on psoriasis comorbidity. However, collaborations among countries, institutions, and investigators are inadequate, and the study of the mechanisms of interaction between psoriasis and comorbidities and management of comorbidities is insufficient. The treatment of comorbidities with biologic agents, screening of comorbidities, and multidisciplinary co-management are predicted to be the focus of future research.

Role of Fat-Free Mass Index on Amino Acid Loss during CRRT in Critically Ill Patients.
Background and objectives: Amino acid (AA) loss is a prevalent unwanted effect of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) in critical care patients, determined both by the machine set-up and individual characteristics. The aim of this study was to evaluate the bioelectrical impedance analysis-derived fat-free mass index (FFMI) effect on amino acid loss. Materials and methods: This was a prospective, observational, single sample study of critical care patients upon initiation of CRRT. ⋯ Conclusions: A substantial amount of AA is lost during CRRT. The amount lost is increased by the conventional factors as well as by higher FFMI. Insights from our study highlight the FFMI as a novel research object during CRRT, both when prescribing the dosage and evaluating the nutritional support needed.

Point-of-Care Ultrasonography Helped to Rapidly Detect Pneumomediastinum in a Vomiting Female.
Vomiting-induced pneumomediastinum is a rare presentation and can be a result of alveolar rupture (Mackler effect) or Boerhaave syndrome. Patients diagnosed with Boerhaave syndrome may present with the classic Mackler triad of vomiting, chest pain, and subcutaneous emphysema. However, there exists a large overlap of symptoms accompanying Boerhaave syndrome and the Macklin effect, including retrosternal chest pain, neck discomfort, cough, sore throat, dysphagia, dysphonia, and dyspnea. ⋯ Delayed diagnosis of Boerhaave syndrome may worsen sepsis and cause mortality. Therefore, early diagnosis and timely management are important to prevent further complications. Here, we present a case of vomiting-induced pneumomediastinum, which supports the use of bedside ultrasonography to aid in the diagnosis and rapid differentiation of etiology of pneumomediastinum.

Background and Objective: Mutations in the CYB5R3 gene cause reduced NADH-dependent cytochrome b5 reductase enzyme function and consequently lead to recessive congenital methemoglobinemia (RCM). RCM exists as RCM type I (RCM1) and RCM type II (RCM2). RCM1 leads to higher methemoglobin levels causing only cyanosis, while in RCM2, neurological complications are also present along with cyanosis. ⋯ Molecular dynamics study revealed that the variant p.(Ile224Phe) in the CYB5R3 resides in the NADH domain of the protein, the aberrant function of which is detrimental. Conclusions: The present study expanded the variant spectrum of the CYB5R3 gene. This will facilitate genetic counselling of the same and other similar families carrying mutations in the CYB5R3 gene.
