Background and Objectives: The aim was to explore the interventional effect of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) exercise of Tian Dan Shugan Tiaoxi on the emotions of patients with mild novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Materials and Methods: A total of 110 asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic COVID-19 patients from Hongkou Memorial Road Temporary Cabin Hospital and South Renji Hospital were selected between April 2022 and June 2022, and randomly divided into two groups: a control group and an intervention group. There were 55 participants in each group. ⋯ The factors of somatization, depression, anxiety, hostility, and fear in the SCL-90 in the intervention group were significantly improved after intervention, and generally, better than those in the control group (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Patients infected with novel coronavirus in shelter hospitals have different degrees of emotional abnormalities. Tian Dan Shugan Tiaoxi can reduce the anxiety and depression of people with mild novel coronavirus, and it can be practiced clinically to improve the recovery rate among infected people.

Assessment of CA-125 First-Trimester Values as a Potential Screening Marker for Pre-Eclampsia.
Background: Pre-eclampsia is a major public health issue. Current screening methods are based on maternal characteristics and medical history, but complex predictive models combining different clinical and biochemical markers have been proposed. However, although their accuracy is high, the implementation of these models in clinical practice is not always feasible, especially in low- and middle-resource settings. ⋯ Additionally, no correlation was made between it and third-trimester blood pressure or pregnancy outcomes. Conclusions: CA-125 first-trimester values do not represent a valuable marker for pre-eclampsia screening. Further research on identifying an accessible and cheap marker to improve pre-eclampsia screening in low- and middle-income settings is needed.

Alteration of Collagen Content and Macrophage Distribution in White Adipose Tissue under the Influence of Maternal and Postnatal Diet in Male Rat Offspring.
Background and Objectives: The extracellular matrix is important for adipose tissue growth, and numerous interactions between adipocytes and extracellular matrix components occur during adipose tissue development. The main objective of this study was to investigate the interaction and influence of maternal and postnatal diet on adipose tissue remodeling in Sprague Dawley offspring. Materials and Methods: 10 Sprague Dawley females were randomly divided into two groups at nine weeks of age and fed a standard laboratory diet or high-fat diet for six weeks. ⋯ Results: Staining of extracellular components showed higher collagen deposition in the perirenal and epididymal depot of offspring fed a high-fat diet. The number of CD163/CD68+ cells in the perirenal adipose tissue was lower in the CD-HFD group compared with other groups, and in the subcutaneous fat pad when the groups with modified diet were compared with those on non-modified diet. Conclusion: Morphological changes in adipose tissue, increased collagen deposition, and changes in macrophage polarization may be related to intergenerational changes in diet.

Background and Objectives: It is well established that patients with cognitive impairment are at a higher risk of falls. However, the impact of coexisting neuropsychiatric symptoms on the overall risk of falls in hospitalized geriatric individuals with and without dementia has not been extensively studied. This cross-sectional study will assess the association between neuropsychiatric symptoms and fall risk in geriatric individuals analyzed by sex. ⋯ Conclusions: Our results suggest that the presence of neuropsychiatric symptoms, particularly hallucinations is associated with an increased risk of falls in geriatric inpatients. In addition, the cumulative total of NPS and their cumulative intensity are both independently associated with an increased risk of falls. These results suggest that fall prevention strategies should include the management of neuropsychiatric symptoms in hospitalized geriatric individuals.

Background and Objectives: The diagnosis and treatment of pituitary adenomas with cavernous sinus invasion pose significant challenges for clinicians. The objective of this study is to investigate the expression profile and prognostic value of HSPB1 (heat shock protein beta-1) in pituitary adenomas with invasive and non-invasive features. Additionally, we aim to explore the potential relationship between HSPB1 expression and immunological functions in pituitary adenoma. ⋯ The drugs DB11638, DB06094 and DB12695 could act as inhibitors of HSPB1. Conclusions: HSPB1 may serve as an important marker for invasive pituitary adenomas and promote tumour progression by modulating the immune system. Inhibitors of HSPB1 expression are currently available, making it a potential target for therapy in invasive pituitary adenoma.
