Background and Objectives: The facial vein is the main collector of venous blood from the face. It plays an important role in physiological as well as pathological context. However, to date, only limited data on the course and tributaries of the facial vein are present in contemporary literature. ⋯ Dissection was carried out and the facial vein and its tributaries (angular vein, ophthalmic vein, nasal veins, labial veins, palpebral veins, buccal and masseteric veins) were assessed. Results: The facial vein presented a textbook-like course in all cases and crossed the margin of the mandible anterior to the masseter in 6.8% of cases, while being located deep to the zygomaticus major muscle in all cases and deep to the zygomaticus minor in 94.6% of cases. Conclusions: This work offers detailed information on the course of the facial vein in relation to neighboring structures, which shows a relatively consistent pattern, as well as on its tributaries, which show a high variability.

Mixed Eccrine Cutaneous Tumor with Folliculo-Sebaceous Differentiation: Case Report and Literature Review.
Background/Introduction: Cutaneous mixed tumor is a rare benign neoplasm that exhibits a wide range of metaplastic changes and differentiation in the epithelial, myoepithelial, and stromal components, which is often confused with various other skin lesions. Case report: We present an unusual case of a 58-year-old woman with a mixed tumor of the upper lip, previously misdiagnosed as adnexal carcinoma on a preoperative biopsy. ⋯ The immunohistochemical study proves the various lineages of differentiation and classifies the neoplasm as the less common eccrine subtype of cutaneous mixed tumor. Discussion: The common embryologic origin of the folliculo-sebaceous apocrine complex leads to a great histological variety of cellular components of mixed tumors and the formation of structures that resemble established types of adnexal neoplasms, which could be a diagnostic pitfall, especially on a small incision biopsy.

Background and objectives: Health care professionals (HCPs) are well-positioned to discuss healthy behaviors during pregnancy, but the published research of prenatal healthcare providers' knowledge about the significance of nutrition during pregnancy in Lebanon is scarce. The purpose of this study was to explore the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of Lebanese prenatal healthcare providers towards nutrition during pregnancy. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study using an online questionnaire was conducted. ⋯ However, they perceived their nutrition knowledge as inadequate. Conclusion: Health care providers' attitude towards the importance of maternal nutrition and their confidence in talking about nutrition-related topics with pregnant women were positive despite the lack of knowledge in several areas related to nutrition during pregnancy. Therefore, there is a need for continuing nutrition education for health care providers and the implementation of nutrition education programs to achieve better health outcomes.

Background and Objective: On March 2020, our country became a protected area due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The consequences of COVID-19 on trauma surgery were great. We aimed to evaluate the activity of the Trauma Centre of a highly populated suburban area over 30 days starting from the first day of restrictions, to compare it with the same period of 2019 and 2022 and to evaluate whether a progressive return to normality has taken place. ⋯ Conclusions: COVID-19 has markedly altered orthopaedic trauma. Injuries related to sports and high energy trauma/traffic accidents drastically reduced in 2020; however, we are slowly going back to normality: the same injuries increased in 2022 due to the progressive easing of restrictions. Elderly fractures related to accidental falls remained unchanged.

Background and Objectives: Ovarian tissue cryopreservation followed by autotransplantation (OTCTP) is currently the only fertility preservation option for prepubertal patients. Once in remission, the autotransplantation of frozen/thawed tissue is performed when patients want to conceive. A major issue of the procedure is follicular loss directly after grafting mainly due to follicle activation. ⋯ Conclusions: By adding rapamycin during the OTCTP procedure, we were able to transiently maintain primordial follicles in a quiescent state. This is a promising method for improving the longevity of the ovarian graft. Furthermore, both the ear and kidney capsule transplantation models were suitable for investigating follicle activation and proliferation and pharmacological strategies.
