Prevalence of Repeat Cesarean Section in a Tertiary Care Hospital.
Cesarean section is the surgical delivery of a baby through an incision made in the mother's abdomen and uterus. Repeat cesarean section has recently increased, partly because of concern about increased risk of uterine rupture in women attempting vaginal birth after cesarean delivery. Among the women who underwent cesarean section in their first delivery, 80-96% had a second surgical delivery. Therefore, the present study aimed to describe the prevalence of repeat cesarean section among Nepali women presented at Kathmandu Medical College and Teaching Hospital who had a previous cesarean section. ⋯ The proportion of cesarean section in both first and subsequent delivery is quite high. This high rate may compromise the reproductive future of the women who underwent consecutive cesarean section with possible consequent complications.

Right Ventricular Dimensions and Tricuspid Annular Plane Systolic Excursion among Medical Students of Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
The change in morphology and functions of the right ventricle is an important predictor of heart and lung disease. There is limited data on the normal dimension of the right ventricle. The study aimed to find the right ventricular diameter, its thickness, and tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion in healthy male medical students of a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ The study found that the values of right ventricular dimensions and the right ventricle's tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion among male medical students of a tertiary care hospital to be in accordance with the guidelines by the American Society of Echocardiography. The upper limits of the normal values of the right ventricle could be very helpful in clinical practice in determining the right ventricle dimension.

Safe Abortion among Underprivileged Group Married Women of Low Resource Country: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Unsafe Abortion is one of the leading causes of maternal death. The unhygienic and dangerous practice has been encountered in various geographical areas of Nepal. Case ReportsCotrimoxazole Induced Steven Johnson Syndrome: A Case Report.
Steven Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis are severe and rare adverse drug reactions usually caused by drugs like antiepileptics, penicillin and allopurinol and sometimes also due to infections, malignancy or idiopathic in some cases. Here we are reporting a case of a 50 years female who came with complaint of a burning sensation on the upper half of the body with atypical flat target lesion that later coalesced involving her face, chest and bilateral upper limbs. On examination, positive nikolsky sign and tenderness with <10% body surface area involvement was noticed. ⋯ The mechanism of eruptions in our patient was due to cotrimoxazole. Cotrimoxazole induced Steven Johnson syndrome is rare and the supportive management with broad spectrum antibiotic and the corticosteroid was enough to beat this life-threatening condition. Keywords: cotrimoxazole; pneumonia; Steven Johnson syndrome.

Functional Outcome Estimation of Calcaneum Fractures Treated by Open Reduction and Internal Fixation with Plate and Screws in A Tertiary Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Calcaneum fractures constitute about 60% of all tarsal bone fractures. Intra-articular fractures account for 70% of all calcaneal fractures. There are controversies regarding the operative treatment of calcaneum fractures. Therefore this study aimed to estimate the functional outcomes of calcaneum fractures treated by open reduction and internal fixation with plate and screws. ⋯ In displaced intra-articular calcaneum fractures, open reduction and internal fixation with plates and screws result in a good number of satisfactory outcomes with very few unsatisfactory results. Hence it can be a better option of treatment in displaced intra-articular calcaneum fractures.
