Staphylococcus aureus is both a frequent commensal and a leading cause of endocarditis, bacteremia, osteomyelitis and skin and soft tissue infections and device-related infections. We performed this minireview to summarize the prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus among clinical samples and estimate the proportion of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus among clinical isolates in Nepal is 34.5%. ⋯ Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus accounts for a total of 41.7%. Inducible clindamycin resistance was detected in about 35% of the isolates. A regular antimicrobial resistance surveillance mechanism is necessary to mitigate the development of resistance among organisms and further spread of superbugs like methicillin-resistance Staphylococcus aureus.

Scrub Typhus among Febrile Children in a Tertiary Care Center of Central Nepal: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Scrub typhus is a mite borne infectious disease caused by Orientia tsutsugamushi, obligate intracellular bacteria, transmitted by chigger mites. Scrub typhus is an emerging febrile illness with clinical suspicion being the only key to diagnosis. This study was conducted to find out the prevalence of Scrub typhus among febrile children in a tertiary care center of central Nepal. ⋯ The prevalence of scrub typhus is considerably high during July to November so it should be considered as a differential diagnosis of fever particularly in this period.

Bilateral Simultaneous Total Knee Arthroplasty in Elderly Patients with Severe Osteoarthritis of Knee Joint in a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Total knee arthroplasty is one of the most successful orthopedic surgeries performed in recent decades. However, there are controversies regarding the simultaneous or staged bilateral total knee arthroplasty. The aim of this study is to find the prevalence of bilateral total knee arthroplasty in elderly patients among severe osteoarthritis of knee joints in a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ Bilateral simultaneous total knee arthroplasty was required in less patients with severe osteoarthritis of knee joints. Bilateral simultaneous total knee arthroplasty is safe, convenient, effective with early functional recovery, higher patient satisfaction and cost effective with acceptable cardiac, pulmonary and neurological complications in properly selected patients.

Case ReportsRadiofrequency Ablation of Osteoid Osteoma of Neck of Femur: A Case Report.
Osteoid osteoma is the most common benign bone forming tumor characterized by a nidus surrounded by reactive sclerotic bone typically associated with nocturnal pain and most common in males less than 30 years. Diagnosis may be difficult in cases of atypical presentation, intraarticular localizations or very small size. ⋯ We present a case of an 8-year-old boy with osteoid osteoma of neck of femur managed successfully with radiofrequency ablation. To our knowledge, this is the first case reported on radiofrequency ablation in Nepal.

Gonial Angle by Lateral Cephalogram in Orthodontic Patients of a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
The Gonial angle is an important parameter of the craniofacial complex for growth Patterns prediction. The gonial angle on lateral cephalometric radiograph represents the mandibular morphology concerning mandibular body and ramus. The objective of this study was to find out the mean value of gonial angle in lateral cephalometric radiographs of patients of orthodontic department in a tertiary care center. ⋯ The gonial angle value on lateral cephalometric radiographs was greater in hyperdivergent than hypodivergent and normodivergent vertical skeletal patterns. The hyperdivergent vertical skeletal pattern of female was greater than of male patient's lateral cephalometric radiographs while hypodivergent and normodivergent vertical skeletal patterns of males were greater than female lateral cephalogram radiographs of Nepalese orthodontic patients.
