Organophosphorus Poisoning among Patients Admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Department of Internal Medicine in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Organophosphates are potent cholinesterase inhibitors that when ingested in excessive amounts can be fatal. Organophosphorus poisoning has become an important clinical problem with increased mortality in the country from accidental or intentional ingestion of, or exposure to the pesticide. This study aimed to find out the prevalence of organophosphorus poisoning among patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Department of Internal Medicine in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ Our study found that the prevalence of organophosphorus poisoning was lower when compared to similar studies done in similar settings.

Admitted Dengue Cases among the Adult Dengue Positive Cases in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Dengue is an infectious disease. This disease is prevalent mainly in the terai belts of Nepal. But in the last few years, the cases are in increasing trend in the hilly areas of Nepal. The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of admitted dengue cases among adult dengue-positive cases in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ The prevalence of admitted dengue cases was higher as compared to other studies done in similar settings.

Pneumonia among Children Admitted to the Department of Medicine in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Pneumonia is one of the most common infectious causes of death in children around the world, accounting for 14% of all deaths of children under five years of age. The study aimed to find out the prevalence of pneumonia among children admitted to the Department of Medicine of a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ The prevalence of pneumonia in children admitted to the Department of Medicine was found to be higher than similar studies conducted in similar settings, with higher prevalence in young infants and the male sex than other age groups and genders, respectively.

Atrial Fibrillation among Patients Admitted to the Department of Internal Medicine in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Atrial fibrillation is one of the commonest arrhythmias with an overall prevalence estimated to be 0.4-1% in the general population. The objective of this study was to find out the prevalence of atrial fibrillation among patients admitted to the Department of Internal Medicine in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ The prevalence of atrial fibrillation was found to be similar when compared to other studies conducted in similar settings.

Stillbirths among Pregnant Women Admitted to Department of Obstetrics in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Stillbirth is often defined as the death of a foetus in the uterus prior to its birth or during the process of birth. Most of the stillbirths are preventable global health problem. The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of stillbirths among pregnant women admitted to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ The prevalence of stillbirth among pregnant women was higher than in the other studies done in similar settings.
