Tobacco Smoking among the Online Respondent Dental Students of a Dental College: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Smoking tobacco is most common nowadays among dental students due to stress induced by practical workloads and exams. There is limited data regarding tobacco smoking among dental students. Chronic Liver Disease among Patients Admitted in the Department of Internal Medicine of a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Chronic liver disease with cirrhosis is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality not only in developed but also in developing countries. Many patients already develop complications before hospital admission and require intensive medical care during hospital treatment. The main objective of the study was to find out the prevalence of the chronic liver disease among patients admitted in the Department of Internal Medicine of a tertiary care centre. ⋯ alcoholic liver diseases; liver diseases; prevalence.

Congenital mesoblastic nephromas are rare renal tumours that are encountered in paediatric age group. A term female neonate at the end of first week of life presented with bilateral lower limb swelling. On radiological evaluation, ultrasonography revealed an intra-abdominal mass which was managed with radical nephroureterectomy. Histopathological examination confirmed a diagnosis of congenital mesoblastic nephroma of mixed subtype. ⋯ case reports; congenital mesoblastic nephroma; kidney neoplasms; nephrectomy.

Case ReportsBulbar Onset Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: A Case Report.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a rare, progressive, incurable neurodegenerative disorder that affects motor neurons leading to progressive muscle weakness, disability, and eventually death. A 45-year-old male, initially presented with hoarseness, flickering of tongue, and intermittent aspirations. In course of three years, patient developed motor aphasia, frequent aspirations and an inability to hold his neck. Patient was diagnosed with a bulbar onset type of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis on the basis of neurodegenerative features with normal radiographic imaging. For the prevention of recurrent aspiration pneumonia, he was managed with a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube. As he started developing respiratory failure tracheostomy was performed and kept on a continuous bi-level positive airway pressure ventilator, in the meantime, two courses of injection Edaravone were given. Early evaluation, diagnosis and management of the condition is a cornerstone for better prognosis of disease and survival. ⋯ amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; aspiration pneumonia; case reports; edaravone.

Contrast-induced Nephropathy among Patients Administered with Contrast Material at a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Administration of an intravenous contrast medium, which is used in various routine hospital procedures, can lead to the development of nephropathy in some patients. This contrast-induced nephropathy is one of the most common reasons for hospital-acquired acute kidney injury. This study aimed to find out the prevalence of contrast-induced nephropathy among patients administered with contrast material at a tertiary care centre. ⋯ contrast material; kidney disease; prevalence.
