Potential Drug-drug Interaction among the Patients Admitted in Intensive Care Units of a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Drug interactions are one of the major contributors to increase hospital stay, inflate health care expenses, and cause serious adverse events and end-organ damage. Patients admitted to the intensive care unit are already critically sick and are at greater risk of these adverse outcomes. The study aimed to find out the prevalence of potential drug-drug interactions in the Intensive Care Units of a tertiary care centre. ⋯ drug interactions; intensive care units; Nepal; software.

Sputum Eosinophil Level among Healthy Individuals Visiting Medicine Outpatient Department of a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Sputum differential is the most comprehensive, and non-invasive investigation for evaluating airway inflammation because of its reliability, reproducibility and responsiveness. The interpretation of the results of induced sputum examination depends on knowledge of normal values from a healthy population. So far, the reference values of sputum differential cells in Nepalese population are not reported. Neutrophil and eosinophil are used to assess the inflammatory response of the airway. The aim of our study was to detect the eosinophil level in the sputum of healthy individuals with normal pulmonary function. ⋯ eosinophils; healthy volunteers; leukocyte count; reference values; sputum.

Knowledge of Intravenous Cannulation among Interns of a Teaching Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.

Case ReportsDermatomyositis in an Elderly with Respiratory Presentation: A Case Report.
Dermatomyositis is an idiopathic inflammatory disease that affects the skin and proximal skeletal muscles. To our best knowledge, there are very few cases of Dermatomyositis reported in Nepal and almost none with respiratory manifestation. We present to you the case of dermatomyositis complicated with interstitial lung disease of a 74 years old male patient with a three-week history of generalized weakness, weight loss, Gottron's papule, and heliotrope rash, with features of interstitial lung disease such as shortness of breath, fever, and productive cough, later confirmed by high-resolution computed tomography. ⋯ His antinuclear antibody test was positive. He was managed with standard treatment of dermatomyositis. This report might help understand the presentation of disease in our setting which can help in early diagnosis and early initiation of treatment.

Case ReportsPrimitive Neuroectodermal Tumour of Subcutaneous Tissue Presenting as a Shoulder Lump: A Case Report.
Primitive neuroectodermal tumour is a poorly differentiated small round cell neoplasm that primarily affects children and is very rarely seen in adults. Peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumours are rare compared to the central type and resemble soft tissue sarcoma. ⋯ However, no cases involving the subcutaneous tissue of the shoulder region have been reported. We report the case of a peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumour arising from subcutaneous tissue of the right shoulder in a young adult.
