Case ReportsEmpyema Thoracis in a Patient Admitted with COVID-19: A Case Report.
After almost a year of declaring COVID-19 a global pandemic, unusual presentations of the disease continue to be reported. Very little is known about its association with pleural disease. Here, we present a case of empyema thoracis in a 39-year-old male admitted with COVID-19. ⋯ He died on the 19th day of admission following a hemorrhagic stroke. Pleural disease, although considered atypical and unusual presentation of COVID-19, needs careful and prompt diagnosis and earliest intervention. COVID-19, being a disease that involves multiple systems, and presentation of the disease may eventually lead to circulatory dysfunction and hence should be kept under consideration.

C-reactive Protein to Albumin Ratio among Patients Admitted to Intensive Care Unit of a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Crosssectional Study.
Sepsis is the most common cause of mortality among patients admitted to intensive care unit. There is emerging evidence on the role of C-reactive protein to albumin ratio (C-reactive protein/Albumin) in predicting outcomes in patients with critical illness and sepsis, admitted to intensive care unit. We aimed to find out the median value of C-reactive protein/Albumin ratio among patients admitted to intensive care unit of a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ Our study showed higher median C-reactive protein /Albumin similar to other studies. Sepsis is a common finding among patients admitted to intensive care unit. Monitoring of C-reactive protein/albumin level in a patient admitted to intensive care unit could be useful for stratifying patients with a high risk of developing sepsis.

Successful Outcome of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Reconstruction by Hamstring Tendon for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Deficit Knee at a University Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Anterior cruciate ligament is a commonly injured and reconstructed ligament in the knee. Unlike in urban areas where sports activities and road accidents are common mechanisms of injuries, the semi-urban and rural population has a different mode of injuries, needs, and expectations. This study explores the prevalence of successful outcome of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in by hamstring tendon for anterior cruciate ligament deficit knee at a university hospital. ⋯ Anterior cruciate ligament injuries were seen in heterogeneous populations during their activities of daily living or recreational sports activities. Anatomic anterior cruciate ligamentreconstruction with hamstring grafts provided good functional outcomes, especially among the young population. Our findings are similar to current studies on anterior cruciate ligament-reconstruction.

Dural Venous Sinus Thrombosis is the formation of blood clot within the cerebral sinus. It is very rare case with varying clinical presentation. It has non-specific signs and symptoms ranging from headache, papilledema, seizures, focal neurological deficits and mental state changes which is caused by genetic and acquired prothrombotic states, infections, inflammatory disease and trauma. ⋯ We have described a case of a patient who presented with headache over the temporal and occipital region and was disoriented. The Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Venography report revealed presence of thrombus in the transverse and sigmoid sinus with hemorrhagic infarcts. He was then treated with anticoagulants Low Molecular Weight Heparin which was further substituted by Warfarin.

Impacted Canine in Orthodontic Patients of a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Impacted canine is a frequently encountered clinical problem during orthodontic practice with different prevalence in each region. Treatment usually requires an interdisciplinary approach which is difficult and time consuming. Surgical exposure of the impacted tooth and the complex orthodontic mechanisms are used to align the tooth into the arch. This study was designed to find out the prevalence of impacted canine in orthodontic patients. ⋯ The overall prevalence of impacted canines was found lower than previous studies done in similar settings. Large number of patients had buccal impaction compared to palatal impaction.
