Anemia among Patients Attending Anti-retroviral Therapy at a Tertiary Care Center: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Hematologic abnormalities are among the most common complications of infection with Human Immunodeficiency Virus. These abnormalities are due to: impaired hematopoiesis, immune mediated cytopenias and altered coagulation mechanisms. Anemia is the most frequent, however, leukopenia, lymphopenia, and thrombocytopenia have also been observed. The aim of the study was to find the prevalence of anemia in patients attending anti-retroviral therapy at a tertiary care center of Nepal. ⋯ The prevalence of anemia among patients attending antiretroviral therapy in our study was found to be high which is consistent with the findings of other similar international studies. These patients should be routinely monitored and treated for the occurrence of hematological abnormalities.

Complete Recovery of Renal Function among Obstetric Patients with Acute Kidney Injury at a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Acute kidney injury is a rare complication of pregnancy and is associated with high maternal morbidity and mortality. Obstetric factors associated with it are preeclampsia/eclampsia, sepsis, hemorrhage and dehydration. Here, we aim to find out the prevalence of complete recovery of renal function among obstetric patients with acute kidney injury. ⋯ The prevalence of complete recovery in obstetric patients with acute kidney injury was similar to findings from other studies done in similar settings.

Case ReportsRecurrent Eccrine Acrospiroma of the Parotid Region: A Case Report.
Eccrine acrospiroma is a benign tumor of skin and adnexa arising from eccrine sweat gland epithelium. It is usually solitary, slow growing tumor commonly affecting extremities. Rarely it affects head and neck region, and extremely rare in parotid region. ⋯ Treatment of choice is wide local excision with adequate skin margins. Although benign this tumor is very notorious for recurrence after inadequate resection. We describe here a case of young male patient with recurrent eccrine acrospiroma over parotid region which was managed by wide local excision with primary repair with excellent results.

They may be welldifferentiated, poorly differentiated, or invasive breast cancers with neuroendocrine differentiation. ⋯ Herein, we report a case of invasive ductal carcinoma with neuroendocrine differentiation of the breast in a 73 years female with a history of breast lump initially in the lower inner quadrant of left breast and a month later, similar lump at the same site in right breast. Patient underwent Modified Radical Mastectomy bilaterally followed by adjuvant chemotherapy based on Carboplatin and Etoposide regimen.

Mean Carotid Intima-Media Thickness in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Attending Tertiary Care Center: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Sonographic carotid intima media thickness measurement in diabetic patients is an important tool for estimating the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events. It is a simple, noninvasive and widely available tool which can give idea of further treatment needed. The objective of this study was to determine the mean intima media complex thickness in patients with type II diabetes mellitus attending a tertiary care center. ⋯ Carotid intima media thickness in patients with type II diabetes mellitus showed higher values than that of mean value from study done in similar study. Female had higher mean intima media thickness than male.
