Case ReportsSynchronous Fibromatosis Indistinguishable from Suspected Synchronous Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor: A Case Report.
Desmoid tumors most commonly occur in the anterior abdominal wall in approximately 50% of cases and are locally aggressive. We describe a case of a 38-year-old lady who was investigated as a case of gastrointestinal tumor. Post-operative immunohistochemistry staining showed the presence of a synchronous desmoid in the abdominal wall and proximal ileum. Wide local excision remains the gold-standard of treatment with pharmacotherapeutics and radiotherapy serving as adjuvant or palliative treatment options.

Case ReportsStuttering after Intravenous Anesthesia: A Case Report.
Stuttering is a form of speech disorder characterized by involuntary prolongation and repetition of sound, words, syllables or phrases as well as involuntary silent pauses or blocks. We report a case of a healthy twenty-six-year-old male patient without significant past history, who underwent short intravenous anesthesia for incision and drainage for perianal abscess. Postoperatively, the patient presented with prominent stuttering after six hours of surgery. ⋯ He was diagnosed with a functional speech disorder after excluding organic causes. His speech eventually normalized with six weeks of intensive speech therapy. This event posed a significant challenge for the surgical and anesthesia team to find the potential cause, to plan further management, and lead to two days prolongation of hospital stay.

Cardiovascular disease, including ischemic heart disease, is one of the most common causes of death and disability in both sexes. The traditional concept of ischemic heart disease as a "man's disease" is debunked. Yentl syndrome is used to describe the underdiagnosis of ischemic heart disease in females and its associated effects. ⋯ However, we admitted her. After 40 hours of hospitalization, her evaluation revealed anterior wall ST elevation myocardial infarction, and she underwent emergent reperfusion via coronary catheterization. This combination of atypical signs and symptoms and chances of delayed manifestations in the diagnostic investigations provides evidence for a need for thorough assessment in a female with chest pain.
