Advance Age Pregnancy in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Women who conceive at advance age are at risk of pregnancy complications and adverse foetal outcome. This study aims to find out the prevalence of pregnancy at advance age in a teaching hospital. ⋯ From this study, it can be concluded that prevalence of advanced age at pregnancy was lower than study done in developed country but it was similar to study in India and is increasing in Nepal.

Metabolic Syndrome in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Medicine Department of a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
The best recognized systemic manifestations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease include, cardiovascular co-morbidities, cachexia and muscle dysfunction, osteoporosis, anemia, and clinical depression and anxiety. This study was undertaken to find the prevalence of the metabolic syndrome in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients who were admitted in the medicine department of a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ The study showed that the prevalence of metabolic syndrome was found to be lower than the previous study done in similar settings.

Esophageal cancer is diagnosed usually at a locally advanced stage. Surgery alone has less optimal results and a multimodality approach has been established as the standard of care for cII-III stages of esophageal cancer. ⋯ The major difference is the selection of induction treatment. Till the results of some ongoing trials become available, most of the evidences support neoadjuvant chemoradiation followed by surgery for squamous cell carcinoma and perioperative chemotherapy and surgery for adenocarcinoma.

Febrile Seizure in Children Attending a Tertiary Care Centre in Western Nepal: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Understanding a child with any episode of febrile seizure is important so that special attention could be given. The objective of this study was to find the prevalence of febrile seizure in children attending a tertiary centre in western Nepal. ⋯ Simple febrile seizure was more common and the peak age of presentation was in the second year of life and more commonly in male. One third of febrile seizures were recurrent and half the children had upper respiratory tract infection as the most common etiology of fever.

Type I Lip Pattern in at Least One Quadrant among First and Second-year Medical and Dental Students of a Medical College: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
The upper and lower lip consists of the numerous amounts of fine grooves. This pattern of grooves will be definite throughout the lifetime. The groove of the lip shows variations and play important role in forensic medicine and crime investigation. The objective of this study is to find out the prevalence of type I lip print in at least one lip quadrant among first- and second- year medical and dental students of a medical college. ⋯ Our findings showed a higher prevalence of type I lip pattern than those reported by other national studies done among medical students.
