Amblyopia among Patients Attending the Outpatient Department of Ophthalmology of a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Amblyopia is defined as a reduction in visual acuity unilaterally or bilaterally without any detectable cause. It is a major public health issue in developing and underdeveloped countries. Its prevalence is usually underestimated because of proper study and lack of awareness. The aim of the study was to find out the prevalence of amblyopia among patients attending the Outpatient Department of Ophthalmology of a tertiary care centre. ⋯ amblyopia; anisometropia; astigmatism; refractive errors.

Non-compliance to the Tobacco Control and Regulatory Act among Vendors in the Vicinities of Schools of a Metropolitan City: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Tobacco use is the underlying cause of ill health, preventable deaths, and disabilities worldwide. The Tobacco Product Control and Regulation Act 2011 prohibits the sale of tobacco in public places including educational institutions but non-compliance to the law had not been assessed. This study aimed to find out the prevalence of non-compliance to the Tobacco Product Control and Regulation Act among vendors in the vicinities of schools in a metropolitan city. ⋯ government regulations; primary schools; vendors.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury among Patients with Knee Injury Visiting the Out-patient Department of Orthopaedics of a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Anterior cruciate ligament injury diagnoses are often missed at initial presentation. Though better diagnosed by physical examinations when done by orthopaedics surgeons, proper history is also important in diagnosing it. Poisoning among Patients Presenting to the Department of Emergency Medicine of a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Poisoning is one of the major public health problems worldwide. The World Health Organization has estimated 0.3 million deaths a year due to various poisoning agents; pesticides being the leading one. Poisoning is one of the leading causes of emergency room visits. It has become a significant public health issue in Nepal. Mean Serum Creatine Kinase among Organophosphate Poisoning Cases in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Major cases of poisoning are associated with organophosphates. Cholinergic effects and an intermediate phase seen with organophosphate poisoning may implicate myopathy. Creatine kinase is a marker of muscle tissue damage. This study aimed to find out the mean serum creatine kinase among organophosphate poisoning cases in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ acetylcholinesterase; creatine kinase; organophosphate poisoning; rhabdomyolysis.
