From the beginning of day one in medical school, students are always looking for ways to do something practical and skilled based instead of just reading a textbook. Having said that, learning a skill to save a life is the most fascinating thing. Although as a student, they may not have to attend to the patient, they could be present in accidents outside of the hospital, where they should be able to perform the necessary actions to save a life. After attending the training, one becomes somewhat confident that they can take control of the situation because they will know what to do until the emergency services arrive. ⋯ cardiac arrest; cardiopulmonary resuscitation; life; medical students; workshops.

Case ReportsEtoricoxib Induced Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis in a case of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A Case Report.
Toxic epidermal necrolysis is a potentially life-threatening dermatological condition whose pathogenesis and exact treatment are not yet known. Drugs like anticonvulsants, allopurinol and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like etoricoxib, a selective cyclo-oxygenase-2 inhibitor prescribed for pain management are associated with a high risk of toxic epidermal necrolysis. It is also associated with immunodeficiency and dysregulated immune reactions like systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disease in which organs and cells undergo damage initially mediated by tissue binding auto-antibodies and immune complexes. Here, a 34 year old lady was presented in emergency with multiple maculopapular rashes over the neck and trunk region after treatment with etoricoxib for osteoarthritis of the left foot.

Secondary Prevention of Rheumatic Heart Disease in Nepal: Are We Going Backward?
A secondary level of prophylaxis has proven to be the most successful in Nepal, a country with an endemic rate of rheumatic heart disease, in combating the severe issues associated with rheumatic heart disease. The use of benzathine penicillin G in secondary prophylaxis of rheumatic heart disease, recommended by several guidelines, has been increasingly abandoned in Nepal due to a lack of national guidelines and the termination of the prior programs. ⋯ Nepal urgently needs to develop new national guidelines and ensure their effective implementation in order to slow the increase in the number of rheumatic heart disease patients. In this article, we explore the limitations, challenges, and advantages of using the consensus-supported intramuscular benzathine penicillin G as the first-line drug for the secondary prevention of rheumatic heart disease.
