We examined the status of women's representation on radiology journal editorial boards around the world and evaluated temporal trends in female board representation. ⋯ Although the proportion of female editorial board members of radiology journals worldwide has increased over the past two decades, female editorial board composition generally underrepresents the percentage of female radiologists. Editorial board female representation does not differ significantly between the United States and other countries.

Develop a deep learning-based algorithm using the U-Net architecture to measure abdominal fat on computed tomography (CT) images. ⋯ Our data demonstrates that deep learning methods utilizing a template-based data augmentation strategy can be employed to accurately and rapidly quantify total abdominal SAT and VAT with a small number of training images.

The educational value of the daily resident readout, a vital component of resident training, has been markedly diminished due to a significant decrease in imaging volume and case mix diversity. The goal of this study was to create a "simulated" daily readout (SDR) to restore the educational value of the daily readout. ⋯ The development of the SDR provided an effective method of preserving the educational value of the daily readout experience of radiology residents, despite severe decreases in imaging exam volume and case mix diversity during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic.

Generative adversarial networks (GANs) are deep learning models aimed at generating fake realistic looking images. These novel models made a great impact on the computer vision field. Our study aims to review the literature on GANs applications in radiology. ⋯ GANs are increasingly studied for various radiology applications. They enable the creation of new data, which can be used to improve clinical care, education and research.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced rapid evolution of the healthcare environment. Efforts to mitigate the spread of the virus through social distancing and shelter-at-home edicts have unintended consequences upon clinical and educational missions and mental well-being of radiology departments. We sought to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on radiology residencies with respect to the educational mission and perceptions of impact on well-being. ⋯ The COVID-19 pandemic has markedly impacted the perceived well-being and educational missions of radiology residency programs across the United States.
