New combination of triamcinolone, 5-Fluorouracil, and pulsed-dye laser for treatment of keloid and hypertrophic scars.
Keloids and hypertrophic scars are benign growths of dermal collagen that usually cause major physical, psychological, and cosmetic problems. ⋯ Overall efficacy of TAC+5-FU was comparable with TAC+5-FU+PDL, but the TAC+5-FU+PDL combination was more acceptable by the patients and produced better results. Its effect on lightening of the lesion was promising. The TAC+5-FU+PDL combination seems to be the best approach for treatment of keloid and hypertrophic scars.

Economic impact of preoperative curettage before Mohs micrographic surgery for basal cell carcinoma.
The role of curettage before Mohs micrographic surgery for basal cell carcinoma (BCC) remains controversial. Preoperative curettage may allow the surgeon to better delineate the subclinical extensions of high-risk BCCs, thereby enabling a more precise first-stage excision around tumor-containing tissue. ⋯ Whether preoperative curettage can offer a more precise first-stage excision without compromising tissue conservation remains a subject of debate. Preoperative curettage may reduce the number of Mohs surgical stages required for tumor clearance, potentially shortening patient encounters and allowing surgeons to treat additional patients, while decreasing costs for patients and insurers.

Cutaneous lymphangioma circumscriptum (CLC) is clinically characterized by clusters of translucent vesicles that may be filled by blood. ⋯ On dermoscopy, CLC was characterized by a lacunar pattern. Lesions with a marked hematic content show dermoscopic findings indistinguishable from those of hemangioma.

Patients with skin of color demand treatment modality suitable for their skin. Salicylic acid peel has effectiveness for both of acne and postinflammatory hyperpigmentation that are common in patients with skin of color. ⋯ Salicylic acid peels are beneficial in whitening the face of Asian patients with acne. The whitening effect would be an important factor in choosing the superficial peeling agent for them.
