Comparative StudyAngioJet Pharmacomechanical Thrombectomy and Catheter Directed Thrombolysis vs. Catheter Directed Thrombolysis Alone for the Treatment of Iliofemoral Deep Vein Thrombosis: A Single Centre Retrospective Cohort Study.
Percutaneous thrombus removal is used for the treatment of iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT), but the efficacy of different treatment modalities has not yet been determined. The aim of this study was to compare the outcomes of patients treated with additional AngioJet pharmacomechanical thrombectomy (PCDT) vs. catheter directed lysis (CDT) alone. ⋯ The use of PCDT for the treatment of iliofemoral DVT was observed to provide comparable patient outcomes, comparable vessel patency, an acceptable safety profile, and reduced overall lytic dose.

Comparative Study Observational StudyLong Term Outcomes After Revascularisations Below the Knee with Paclitaxel Coated Devices: A Propensity Score Matched Cohort Analysis.
Endovascular revascularisation has become a standard approach for below knee lesions and paclitaxel coated devices have been widely used in patients with chronic limb threatening ischaemia. A recent meta-analysis reported higher mortality in paclitaxel coated devices compared with uncoated devices in femoropopliteal lesions. This study aimed to determine long term outcomes in below the knee interventions using paclitaxel coated devices in routine vascular care using a large and contemporary cohort. ⋯ In this propensity score matched cohort, reduced long term all cause mortality, reduced rates of amputation or death and cardiovascular event or death were observed at five years after the use of paclitaxel coated devices when compared with uncoated devices for the treatment of chronic limb threatening ischaemia.

Comparative StudyEditor's Choice - Volume-Outcome Relationships in Elective Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Surgery: Analysis of the UK Hospital Episodes Statistics Database for the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) Programme.
To investigate whether a volume-outcome relationship exists for elective abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) surgery conducted within the National Health Service (NHS) in England. ⋯ For elective infrarenal AAA surgery in the UK NHS, there was strong evidence of a volume-outcome relationship for open surgery. However, evidence for a volume-outcome relationship is dependent on the specific procedure undertaken and the outcome of interest.

Is it Possible to Safely Maintain a Regular Vascular Practice During the COVID-19 Pandemic?
This study aimed to evaluate the protocol adopted during the emergency phase of the COVID-19 pandemic to maintain elective activity in a vascular surgery unit while minimising the risk of contamination to both patients and physicians, and the impact of this activity on the intensive care (IC) resources. ⋯ A dedicated protocol allowed maintenance of regular elective vascular surgery activity during the emergency phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, with no contamination of patients or physicians and minimal need for IC resources.
