The primary objective was to compare overall survival (OS) in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) with nonresectable liver-only metastases treated by liver transplantation or chemotherapy. ⋯ Compared with chemotherapy, liver transplantation resulted in a marked increased OS in CRC patients with nonresectable liver-only metastases.

To describe the characteristics of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) with predominant involvement of the main pancreatic duct (MPD), analyzing predictors for survival and recurrence. ⋯ MD-IPMN is mainly intestinal-type and malignant. After resection, it has a very favorable prognosis, especially in the absence of macroscopic invasive carcinoma.

Pretrauma center red blood cell transfusion is associated with reduced mortality and coagulopathy in severely injured patients with blunt trauma.
To evaluate the association of pretrauma center (PTC) red blood cell (RBC) transfusion with outcomes in severely injured patients. ⋯ PTC RBC administration was associated with a lower risk of 24-hour mortality, 30-day mortality, and TIC in severely injured patients with blunt trauma, warranting further prospective study.
