Comparative Study
Outcomes of Graves' Disease Patients Following Anti-Thyroid Drugs, Radioactive Iodine or Thyroidectomy as the First-Line Treatment.
The long-term outcomes of first-line choice among ATD, RAI, and thyroidectomy for GD patients remain unclear. ⋯ GD patients who received surgery as an initial treatment appeared to have lower chances of all-cause mortality, CVD, AF, psychological disease, diabetes, and hypertension in the long-term when compared to those treated with ATD or RAI. The surgery group had the lowest relapse and direct healthcare costs among the 3 treatment modalities. This long-term cohort study suggested surgery may have a larger role to play as an initial treatment for GD patients.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
Robotic versus Laparoscopic Ventral Hernia Repair: One-year Results from a Prospective, Multicenter, Blinded Randomized Controlled Trial.
The aim of this study was to compare clinical and patient-reported outcomes of robotic versus laparoscopic ventral hernia repair (LVHR) at 1-year postoperative. ⋯ This study confirms that robotic ventral hernia repair is safe when compared to laparoscopy. Further studies are needed to confirm these findings.

This meta-analysis (PROSPERO CRD42018100653) uses individual patient data (IPD) to assess the association between recurrence and CTNNB1 mutation status in surgically treated adult desmoid-type fibromatosis (DTF) patients. ⋯ Primary sporadic DTFs harboring a CTNNB1 S45F mutation have a higher risk of recurrence after surgery compared to T41A, S45P, and WT DTF, but this association seems to be mediated by tumor size.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
A Randomized Controlled Trial of Endovenous Laser Ablation Versus Mechanochemical Ablation With ClariVein in the Management of Superficial Venous Incompetence (LAMA Trial).
This RCT compares the clinical, technical and quality of life outcomes after EVLA and MOCA. ⋯ Both EVLA and MOCA were highly efficacious in treating SVI; patients improved significantly in terms of disease severity, symptoms, and QoL. Both resulted in low procedural pain with a short recovery time. Axial occlusion rates were higher after EVLA. Long term follow-up is warranted to assess the effect of recanalization on the rate of clinical recurrence.

Meta Analysis
Anaphylactic Reaction Rates to Blue Dyes Used for Sentinel Lymph Node Mapping: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
The primary objective of this study was to quantify the risk of anaphylaxis to blue dyes used in SLNB for cancer. Secondary outcomes included the identification of factors that may influence this risk. ⋯ Anaphylaxis to blue dyes in SLNB is rare. Methylene blue, patent blue, lower dye volumes, and intradermal administration are all associated with a lower incidence of anaphylaxis.
