Randomized Controlled Trial
Randomized Trial of Laparoscopic Nissen vs. Anterior 180 Degree Partial Fundoplication - Late Clinical Outcomes at 15-20 years.
To determine very late clinical outcomes at up to 20 years follow-up from a randomized controlled trial of Nissen versus anterior 180-degree partial fundoplication. ⋯ At 15 to 20 years follow-up Nissen and anterior 180-degree partial fundoplication achieved similar success, but with trade-offs between better reflux control versus more side-effects after Nissen fundoplication.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
A Phase 3 Randomized Clinical Trial of Chemotherapy With or Without Algenpantucel-L (HyperAcute-Pancreas) Immunotherapy in Subjects with Borderline Resectable or Locally Advanced Unresectable Pancreatic Cancer.
To compare the efficacy and safety of algenpantucel-L [HyperAcute-Pancreas algenpantucel-L (HAPa); IND# 12311] immunotherapy combined with standard of care (SOC) chemotherapy and chemoradiation to SOC chemotherapy and chemoradiation therapy alone in patients with borderline resectable or locally advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). ⋯ Algenpantucel-L immunotherapy did not improve survival in patients with borderline resectable or locally advanced unresectable PDAC receiving SOC neoadjuvant chemotherapy and chemoradiation.

Comparative Study
Pure Laparoscopic Versus Open Right Hepatectomy in Live Liver Donors: A Propensity Score-matched Analysis.
The aim of the study was to present the safety and feasibility of pure laparoscopic donor right hepatectomy (PLDRH) in comparison with those of conventional donor right hepatectomy. ⋯ PLDRH is feasible when performed at an experienced living donor liver transplantation center. Further studies on long-term recipient outcomes including biliary complications are needed to confirm the safety.

Meta Analysis
Laparoscopic Paraesophageal Hernia Repair: To Mesh or not to Mesh. Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
This study aimed to compare outcomes after laparoscopic paraesophageal hernia repair (LPEHR) with mesh or primary repair alone. ⋯ Patients undergoing LPEHR have similar early and late recurrence rates with either mesh reinforcement or suture only repair, regardless of the type of mesh utilized. Overall morbidity, however, seems to be higher in patients repaired with nonabsorbable mesh.

To determine if patients with reported BL allergies have increased odds of developing SSI compared to reported NBL allergic patients. ⋯ Reported BL allergic patients have an increased odds of developing SSI in comparison to NBL allergic patients. The increased risk is likely related to administration of NBL antibiotic regimens in comparison to BL-based regimens. Thorough antibiotic allergy history collection can be a valuable SSI prevention tool to safely increase the proportion of patients receiving BL regimen.
