EditorialSolidarity in response to COVID-19 outbreak in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak that began in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China in late 2019 has spread globally within a few months. The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 outbreak to be a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) after the second meeting of the IHR (2005) Emergency Committee on 30 January 2020. On 12 March 2020, the outbreak of COVID-19 was characterized as a pandemic.

Priority setting for research in the field of medical ethics in the Islamic Republic of Iran: a Delphi study.
Priority-setting is one way to develop research in a particular field. ⋯ The rankings for priority and importance was not the same. Our results highlight a lack of applicable knowledge in the areas of professionalism and end of life. This study could be used as a foundation for developing further investigations by ensuring the most appropriate use of limited resources.

Baseline survey for malaria prevalence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan.
Plasmodium falciparum and P. vivax are prevalent in Pakistan. Data on the epidemiology of Plasmodium infections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province are lacking. ⋯ The prevalence of malaria infection was high in the three districts. Malaria services in the health facilities were weak. Household ownership of long-lasing insecticidal nets was low. Malaria control or elimination strategies should be strengthened in these districts.
