Injuries to the distal tibio-fibular ligaments are common. While pronounced injuries can be reliably diagnosed using conventional radiographs, assessment of subtle syndesmotic injuries is challenging. This cadaver study determines the impact of loading on the assessment of incomplete and more complete syndesmotic injuries when using weightbearing computed tomography (CT) scans. ⋯ In a cadaver model, load application had no effect on the assessment of the distal tibio-fibular syndesmosis in incomplete and more complete syndesmotic injuries. Only more complete injuries of the distal tibio-fibular syndesmosis could be identified using axial CT images.

Pediatric flexible flatfoot is sometimes asymptomatic but it can rarely cause physical impairment, pain, and difficulty walking. We evaluated the radiographic effectiveness of intervention of subtalar arthroereisis with endorthesis for pediatric flexible flatfoot with final follow-up at skeletal maturity. ⋯ Level III, retrospective study.

In rotational ankle injury with isolated fibular fracture, deltoid integrity is important for determining stability of ankle. Medial clear space and superior clear space in gravity stress view are parameters widely used to predict deltoid ligament tear. The purpose of this study is to report radiographic parameters in gravity stress view in normal population. ⋯ This study provides normative radiographic data for a gravity stress radiograph and supports that if measurable MCS >4mm on gravity stress view, it should be aware of an unstable ankle in supination-external rotation injury.
