Controlled Clinical TrialTransversus abdominis plane block provides postoperative analgesic effects after cesarean section: additional analgesia to epidural morphine alone.
The aim of our study was: (i) to investigate whether transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block confers additional analgesic effects to epidural morphine alone; and (ii) to determine plasma levels of local anesthetics after TAP block in post-cesarean women. ⋯ TAP block had additional analgesic effects to epidural morphine alone.

Microwave endometrial ablation for endometrial protection in women with breast cancer on adjuvant tamoxifen.
The purpose of the current study was to determine the effectiveness of microwave endometrial ablation (MEA) in inhibiting the proliferative response of the endometrium in women with breast cancer who are treated with tamoxifen. ⋯ MEA had a protective action against the uterine effects of tamoxifen for postmenopausal patients. MEA is a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment method for breast cancer patients treated with tamoxifen.

Prospective study of prevalence of overactive bladder symptoms and child-bearing in women of reproductive age.
The aim of the study was to verify the presence of overactive bladder syndrome (OAB) symptoms in premenopausal women and relate them with child-bearing data. ⋯ Nulliparous women presented fewer OAB symptoms than primiparous women. Multiparous women presented more symptoms than the other two groups. There were no significant differences between cesarean and vaginal delivery, but the scores of women who had vaginal delivery were higher than those who had cesareans. Both types of delivery were related to higher ICIQ-OAB scores (more severe symptoms) than those of nulliparous women.

Case ReportsAngiographic findings after vaginal gauze packing: New insight into an old technique.
We had a transferred case of cervical ectopic pregnancy with hemorrhagic shock at 6 weeks of gestation. Upon arrival at hospital, we performed tight and full vaginal gauze packing to push the uterus upward to control the patient's hemorrhage. Following stabilization of her general condition, she was treated with uterine artery embolization. ⋯ To our knowledge, there are no reports that have previously demonstrated angiographic findings similar to ours after vaginal gauze packing. Vaginal gauze packing is an effective, rapid, and convenient hemostatic procedure able to be carried out in a time-sensitive and challenging situation. As a result, this procedure gives clinicians more time to improve the patients' general status and arrange for transfusion and further definitive treatment.

Meta Analysis Comparative StudyColloid or crystalloid solution on maternal and neonatal hemodynamics for cesarean section: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
To compare the effect of colloid and crystalloid on maternal and neonatal hemodynamics in cesarean section. ⋯ Colloid hydration should be considered first, especially in Asian patients, focusing on dosage and type of fluids. Preventive or therapeutic vasopressors may be required in a significant proportion of patients.
